Elisabeth to Pop Out Rosie's Replacement?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck told the world today that she's three months pregnant -- which would bring her little baby Republican into the world just nearly in time to fill Rosie O'Donnell's Birkenstocks.

It was all smiles and confetti between E and her elders on "The View" this morning, when Hasselbeck proclaimed the happy news about her second baby, though Barbara Walters admitted that she nearly plotzed when Elisabeth told her she had something to say, following on the heels of Rosie's exit announcement last week.

This does raise the question of what happens in November, during all-important sweeps period, when the baby is due, because O'Donnell will be gone -- and Hasselbeck's baby will put her out for at least a few weeks. Could there be a Star on "The View's" horizon?

46. I have a simple and logical theory. The viewers that enjoy and appreciate Elisabeth H.'s input on the view are the intelligent viewers. They probably have High School diploma's or better, read books on occasion, and enjoy watching Jeopardy. The viewers that 'can't stand her' (ie: # 4, 5, & 14), probably failed Elementary school, read the National Enquirer to obtain their news, and enjoy watching the 'Jerry Springer' show! Simply put, the later viewers are stupid and ignorant. Bye bye Rosie!

47. That's great news for her -- they'd been trying for a few months. I've been watching the view for a few years now and I feel Elisabeth's matured intellectually a little bit since Rosie's been on and is starting to take her Bush blinders off. She's not a fan of Gonzalez or Rove, so it's a start.

Patricia Heaton would be a terrible regular host. She's great to have on as a guest once a year, but she's far too religious and preachy for my liking and I wouldn't be able to watch the show anymore if she was on every day.

48. Rosie leaving is no problem, but if Elisabeth leaves also, it will be the death of the show. It would take a lot of conniving to find someone who can fill all the shoes that have been under The View's desk. I cannot imagine a Republican really caring about the women who are on the view any more than they care about what the American people really think and care about.

50. This is directed toward comment #41. I hate to disappoint you but I do in fact have a college degree. My reasons for disliking Elisabeth are legitimate. I understand that as a member of the cast she is entitled to her opinion. However, there is no need to be judgmental while doing so. Elisabeth acts a though she is an angel and is incapable of making a mistake. People like Elisabeth who maintain a self righteous attitude are the ones who fall the hardest. Just take a look at Kathy Lee Gifford!

51. I don't know what the hostility is about? A decent young woman is having a baby with her husband, in a household that can afford food, clothing, healthcare, and a decent stroller! We should be happy for her! We should be happy for us. This will be one more baby born who is not going to starve to death, or die from lack of medicine, and actually has two parents who love that it's on it's way! We live in America! It's great that Elizabeth is able to speak her mind on the view, whether she is Republican-conservative, or Democratic -liberal, at least she lives in a country where you are not poisoned for having an opinion. When are we going to start supporting our differences, and appreciating that we can have them! That's Liberty!

52. Congratulations, Elizabeth! Wow, it's surprising to read how much venom people have towards other people because of their political views. Sad!

57. Thank goodness she's going to be gone on leave for a while. Can't stand her and her way of thinking she's holier than thou. She has brought the view down. When she speaks the mute button is on.

58. To Liz: Please don't come back, a mannequin could give more intelligent feedback and opinions than you.

59. I am sick to death of all these narcissists popping out kids like pez dispensers when there are a gazillion orphaned kids and animals waiting for homes. These self-centered jerks pretend to "love children" but ignore all these desperate souls who are literally facing death without adopters. They don't "love children"; they love themSELVES. If they cared about kids, they'd adopt the homeless. But no, they only care if it has THEIR gene pool. Sick sick sick. They got knocked up. It's not some huge achievement. And "court reporter"'s idiotic "There's nothing more important than bringing a child into the world"? That kind of unthinking, insipid platitude is why we are the most overpopulated species on earth: Learn the truth: www.WorldPopulationBalance.org.

60. Why on earth do we congratulate someone for getting knocked up? There are so many orphans to adopt but these selfish asses decide it's more important to propogate themSELVES than save those literally at death's door. Shame on them.
