Hasselhoff's Ex: I was Abused

Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff appeared at a Los Angeles County courtroom this morning with her new celebrity attorney Debra Opri. The two were present for a hearing on the bitter divorce between Bach and estranged husband David Hasselhoff.

When asked outside of court to describe some of the rougher parts of their marriage, the Hoff's ex said, "There is emotional abuse, verbal abuse, and if I didn't have a restraining order there would be physical abuse." Opri also claimed that David's alcoholism contributed to the problems in the marriage.

When reporters asked about hiring new celebrity attorney Debra Opri, Bach replied "Debra is a winner, and I'm sick of being abused."

A rep for David says, "Mr. Hasselhoff continues to fulfill his obligations to his former wife and their children and as a result they continue to maintain the same lifestyle they were accustomed to. Unfortunately, his ex-wife continues to use the press and the children as a tool to present herself as a victim. She has had no less than nine sets of attorneys who have all let her go due to the inconsistency of her behavior."

David tells TMZ, "I have the respect of my daughters and my fans and most importantly my self respect. I will continue to keep my personal life private for the sake of moving on and living a happy life with my children."

Your comments: I have to agree with the stories of all these other people,
about Miss
Bach. One of my friends on Myspace was quite rudely asked by the
accused who she was, and what was her real name. Just because her
name is Hayley, the same as the youngest daughter!!! How
dispiccable, of a grown woman to ask a 19 year old girl, what her
real name was...!!! And infact, Hayley is a very old English name
which the Americans have stolen from us....She also refused to have
me on her Official web site, don't know why!!! I think that she is
a money grabber, out to get all she can from David Hasselhoff. It
seems she is trampling over anyone, just to make a name for herself,
because she was married to The Hoff.

47. Was it me or was pamela slurring her speech during this interview? I can't understand what she is saying...."parents is important...???" and is everyone forgetting that this "hands on mothah" tested positive for cocaine last year? let's just throw the hasselhoffs' girls into further embarrassment and chaos by having their idiot mother be propped up by the less than credible opri machine. I hope pamela doesn't have a death in her family...opri just might just bill her for attending...I personally love, however, how Debra Opri sounds like Mr. Ed when she laughs.

48. In his latest home video, Hasselhoff is so drunk and incoherent, that I would not want my child in the same room with him for too long. Hopefully he doesn't smoke when he's drunk like that, or drive! Hopefully this video can show the Family Courts that everyone can have a dark side. Everyone puts their best foot forward for the public, but we have to learn to deal with private demons.

Since America loves it's bad boys, fans will now watch the video and call it Parental Alienation. Or they will blame the person who released the tape. Already in this article his wife is being accused of using the media to "portray" herself as a victim. I say her worst mistake, probably was allowing the abuse to go on for so long. Can't we see that like so many other abusers, the rich and famous can be dangerous too.

Like Alec Baldwin, this man has been caught in the act of being himself. The family has obviously been through this too many times, and are seeking protection through the Court. The public, for some reason, seems to think this family should keep this dirty little secret to themselves and suffer because, when Hasselhoff isn't drinking, he thinks he's a good Father. Oh yeah, and he's lonely and he has problems. Give me a break!

In case we've forgotten how serious Domestic Violence can be, especially when it's fueled by alcohol or drugs, remember Nichole Brown- Simpson's voice pleading for help from the Police during one of OJ's rants.

Anyone who thinks the rich and famous are being treated unfairly because we now have technology to catch them in the midst of their outbursts, should think how helpful it would have been to have a tape of Phil Spector.

Jane Q. Public, who may be going through some insane form of torture may not have the money to hire famous Attorneys, or the technology to capture the abuse on tape. Every 3 seconds in the Country, some woman or child is abused, but we don't believe it unless we see an injury or get the Autopsy.

When people allow themselves to lose control to the extent that they become dangerous, we should not force their families to risk their lives or their emotional health for the sake of visitation rights.

Orders of Protection or Restraining orders should be given even when there is doubt about the abusers capacity for harm. Denying visitation to avoid confrontation is the best way to help families in crisis. We have to start protecting them from abuse.

For anyone else who is suffering, there is the National Domestic Violence hotline, and self Help groups like Alanon and Alateen. In addition to AA and NA and millions of Rehabs around the Country, anyone wishing to try to beat an addiction may want to visit the Rational Recovery web site.

49. This tape ( DAVID DRUNK IN VEGAS) disturbs me to no end. Just like the Baldwin voice mail does. Do these wives have no shame. Opri is a opportunist, and deserve the title "BLOOD SUCKER", for which she rightfully earned. She showed her true colors with Larry Birkhead, if she would have been patient, but nooooooo. 650,000 what a greedy B

50. Pamela: Very bad choice of attorneys. Keep an eye out on Opri!!! She will abuse you worse than your husband has.
