"Idol" Castoff Gets Wigged-Out Homecoming

16. OH GAG!!!
I live in Greenville and this guy is NOBODY. In person he is about the grossest individual you could ever hope to NOT encounter. How he ever got on AI is beyond me (and a lot of people from down here).

The joint he played at for his "homecoming" is a DIVE. They also did this on a MONDAY because there isn't many people who want to screw up their weekends to go see this guy and the Handlebar has other acts to book on weekends (like grunge bands and the like).

This guy is a joke and his intense jealousy of everyone else on the show (its not just Sanjaya) is so obvious. Doesn't anyone remember his "I didn't want to win AI anyways"? Yeah right, tell us another one fatty. You wanted to win so badly you couldn't stand it when you got booted.

This guy is an embarrassment to Greenville.


LOL. Sligh hasn't changed one bit. Still bitter. You lost, Sligh. Get over it.

17. This person who says they are from Greenville with the nasty attitude is a Phil fan? I think Phil would be embarrassed to have this person as a fan, especially since he and Chris Sligh are friends.
And this place you are calling a "dive" has hosted Joan Baez, Sevendust, John Mayer, John Hiatt, Collective Soul, Arlo Guthrie, Edwin McCain, Hinder, Tinsley Ellis and Savoy Brown, among many many others.
I am from the Greenville area, and I am very proud of Chris, although I did not know him prior to A.I. I am definitely a fan now!

19. Well, I'm from Greenville and I say --- Chris WHO?
I never heard of this guy prior to his AI stint and I go to a lot of the clubs, etc., including the Handlebar for concerts. His band Half Past Forever will hit it big before he will solo, if either one of them do at all. I don't think he really did right by his band either.
He needs to take a tip from the whole Taylor Hicks debacle -- YOUR LOOKS DO MATTER IF YOU WANT TO SELL RECORDS!!! (CD's, etc.)

21. Vulgar people like the ones commenting on how "fat" Chris Sligh is, must really have a wonderful life what with being all PERFECT and all. Also, I've always been taught, those who have no legs to stand on with the REAL ISSUES, always resort to namecalling and personal insults when they cant argue a point based on the merits of their position.

The fact that this guy is from hick town called Greenville and the local media (TV stations, radio stations, newspapers) don't even hype the fact he's from that Podunk county must REALLY say a lot about his self worth as a performer/wannabe celebrity.

24. Chris was not my favorite, but I wsh him well, he is also going on tour so he will at least make 250,000 for that, no one in the top 10 is a loser. As for his jealousy, well he has no kicks, he's lucky he got to go on tour. Chris and Phil got the boot tonight, they can't blame Sanjaya for that, someone has to go so it was their time, they were both very gracious about it, Chris thanked everyone for keeping him there as long as they did, what a gentleman, Chris Sligh could talke a few lessons instead of that sour grapes remark that no one believed. Sanjaya is just an unlucky kid, bad mom, poor family, and no town to welcome him back, it would have been nice if everyone downed him for his singing and not the unlucky breaks that he had no control over. .

25. Eh, there's been conflicting reports on the whole Sanjaya thing. Chris just posted saying he didn't give any photos to anyone and wants to "apologise to Sanjaya" and be a "true friend"; quite a few newspapers reported the mall in Sanjaya's area wanted to give him a reception and were even offering a reward because they couldn't find him. For my money, it seems like he's hiding; his mother's gotten a lot of criticism for the whole drug bust, not being there when he got voted off [no one was there really for him, apparently; the other contestants stayed with him], and that video that shows her grabbing him by the shirt and pushing him into a car. If that was my mother, I'd hide too.

26. #28 Vaughn, that's what I mean by bad breaks and a bad mom. I thought he lived with his Father? he seemed nice. It's too bad that the kid can't enjoy some of his American Idol success, such as it was, with his hometown, now no one is sure he even lives there. I have to wonder if his Mother was such a party animal before Sanjaya went on American Idol. Because Sanjaya is underage I guess he is stuck with his Mother. I think it's very sad. I heard he was made a few offers for a teen show and because of the bad publicity he probably lost them too. His Mother will probasbly take all the money he is going to make on that tour. I noticed he looked very shabby when he went on a few TV shows after he was booted off.

27. I heard that Sanjaya's mother is really abusive. She's a party animal with a bad drug habit and nasty temper. She shoves her kids around and slaps them if they get out of line. She pimped her daughter out to work at Hooters. The family lived on welfare. The Indian father is remarried with new kids and lives in India. He doesn't pay child support and visits once every few years. Sanjaya's stepfather died of cancer and the mother lost it. She forced Sanjaya to quit school and get his GED. Now they're all living in L.A with her drummer boyfriend. That kid turns 18 in September. He should cut all ties to her before she steals his money. I think he'll be okay. He has an agent. But the mother is toxic.

Sligh has a bad rep with the other contestants. The Idol staff were investigating him for leaking information that almost got Phil Stacey disqualified. He was shady. A lot of the guys were suspicious of him. Nobody wanted to room with him because he was skeevy and weird.

The pot party at Brandon's place was wild. A lot of tweaking going on. I should sell pictures of the Idols getting high and make some $$$. LOL.

28. For all of you who say you are from Greenville & that nobody knows who Chris Sligh is, I say that you are out of touch with reality! I recently drove from Florida up to Greenville with my son (who looks very much like Chris Sligh). We had a ton of people on the street stopping us & telling us how much my son looked like him. And unlike those of you, the people who stopped us thought that Chris Sligh was great. We never once heard a negative comment. (Especially nothing as nasty as those that you have posted!) In fact we heard just the opposite. Everyone we talked to seem to think that Chris was great! I have had the opportunity to see Chris & his band perform twice and they are awesome!

I live in Jacksonville, Florida and even though Phil is the hometown favorite here, there are plenty of Chris Sligh fans here too. Those folks from Jacksonville who are Phil fans know that Phil & Chris are great friends. It is common knowledge in Jascksonville.

I have checked out Chris Sligh's blog and he has never, ever said anything ugly or disrespectful about anyone on American Idol. He has always been kind and supportive of the rest of the contestants. Like I said before, you people who are posting these negative comments need a reality check. It is obvious that none of you have actually met Mr. Sligh in person, or you would know that he is an extremely nice guy.

I have to agree with the other person who posted that when you resort to attacking someone's appearence, that you show that you don't have the intelligence to make an arugement based on facts. I also noiticed that none of you negative posters commented on how large Lakisha is. Who care? If they can sing, they can sing. And trust me, Chris Sligh can sing!!!! I know cause I have actually heard him. You folks need to get a life and grow up!

I started to watch American Idol this season and got hooked but the people that were getting voted off was and is pissing me off like last night ,,,How the hell does phil get voted off and he was great but ,yet you keep Lakisha and she was not that good and has a shreiky voice and she is a eye sore crooked teeth and fat yuk I don't think that this voting system is fair and I think that the system is fixed, and as for Simon if you keep him on i'm surprised any one watches American Idol at all.

I have watched one by one all the great singers being voted off one by one and last night really took the cake Phil was a good singer and so was Chris as for no neck Melinda and fat ass Lakisha they are eye sores to America and shame on you for keeping them in and as for Blake he sucks and ruins all the songs by putting stupid b-bop sounds and he totaly ruined Bon Jovi's I'm stained for life hearing his garbage I am hoping you guys wake up before it is to late. You really need to take a look at the last four idols remaining and choose wisely because the only good looking one left is Jordan and she can sing. Good luck you have a hand ful of losers.
