"Idol" Castoff Gets Wigged-Out Homecoming

TMZ has obtained video of "American Idol" castoff, curly-haired Chris Sligh, in his first performance since being booted off the talent juggernaut.

Sligh and his band kicked off his "Fro Patro Homecoming Tour" in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, hitting local nightclubs and even singing at church.

A TMZ source in the audience tells us that many of his fans sported Chris look-alike curly wigs to welcome the portly songbird home. Sligh gave the crowd a true "Idol" send-off, singing his encore song on the way out!

31. 30. I heard that Sanjaya's mother is really abusive. She's a party animal with a bad drug habit and nasty temper. She shoves her kids around and slaps them if they get out of line. She pimped her daughter out to work at Hooters. The family lived on welfare. The Indian father is remarried with new kids and lives in India. He doesn't pay child support and visits once every few years. Sanjaya's stepfather died of cancer and the mother lost it. She forced Sanjaya to quit school and get his GED. Now they're all living in L.A with her drummer boyfriend. That kid turns 18 in September. He should cut all ties to her before she steals his money. I think he'll be okay. He has an agent. But the mother is toxic.

Sligh has a bad rep with the other contestants. The Idol staff were investigating him for leaking information that almost got Phil Stacey disqualified. He was shady. A lot of the guys were suspicious of him. Nobody wanted to room with him because he was skeevy and weird.

The pot party at Brandon's place was wild. A lot of tweaking going on. I should sell pictures of the Idols getting high and make some $$$. LOL.

Can you explain where you get your "insider info" from? Just wondering.

32. I listened to this last night......it sounds FANTASTIC!

I seriously can not wait until the tour so that I can see Chris live.....he's the ONLY reason I'm going.

The nasty comments on here are ridiculous....and just plain cruel.

Chris Sligh is my idol.....love him, CHRIS YOU ROCK!

33. It's hysterical to see people bash Chris like they've got something going on that's so much better in their lives. Yes he's a little heavy, but are the people posting negativity perfect? Everyone who made the top 12 on the show (including Sanjaya) is a better singer than any of us, so shut the hell up about saying any of them suck. If you watch the stars performance on a lot of weeks, they were the weakest performance on the stage that night. As for how Chris conducts himself. Read his blog, it's all right there! Chris has never spread gossip in or out of the press. He's great friends with Phil, Blake, & Chris. He's defended Sanjaya at every possible opportunity. He's a talented singer and a better person. I just got his album from Amazon, that he made with his band before Idol, and I'm excited to hear the music he makes in the future. Make room for one more in the Fro Patro!

35. #34 is one of the dumbest comments I've ever read. I don't know much about Chris Sligh, but I do know he's got a great voice, and he's funny as hell. And I bet the fatty jokes will have him laughing all the way to the bank while #34 and his ignorant crew sit on their brains coming up with witty one liners like "did he eat the other idols". I anxiously await these fools next line of comedic genius.

36. I really wonder what some of these people get out of being so mean and nasty? I really do feel bad for them though. They must have had some really horrible childhoods. I hope life gets better for them, and that someday they will feel shame for the abuse they have perpetrated on others. I guess I should probably stop reading these comments because it makes me too sad to see all the garbage that these people find to say.
