In a statement to TMZ, the CW and Warner Bros. Television says it is "a truly sad moment for everyone" and promises to "give this series the send-off it deserves."

Sources tell TMZ that there were ongoing negotiations with the suits and the actresses in an effort to bring the show back for another season, but they were unable to seal the deal.

47. Sigh...I hate the CW. Ever since they took over things have just gotten worse and worse. I used to watch many of the WB shows including the Gilmore Girls. But now I'm down to ummmm 1 (Supernatural) I'm betting they'll cancel it too.

48. This is very sad. Garbage such as Desperate Housewives continues to get accolades and Girlmore Girls has never gotten the praise it deserved.

49. Oh crap! I haven't watched regularly. What happened to the Lorelei-Christopher storyline after they got married in Paris?

50. Good Bye Ladie and the entire case. Thanks for seven good years. The last two have drug on, but I hung on with hope. It won't happen according to sneak peaks, so again Thanks for the seven good years. And Goodbye to CW

51. I hate when good TV ends. The town and it's characters were rich and full. I will miss Kirk and his seven thousand jobs!

53. I got into GG late, but I am totally addicted. I love this show! I know that in the middle of season 6 until now it has stunk, but I have continued watching it. I agree that after ASP and DP left the show got worse with the new writers, but think about it; the new writers weren't given much to work with. They were left with Lorelai leaving Luke to sleep with Christopher. I know that I am not the only one who watched it with hopes it got better. It is getting better now, but it cannot end! There is no way to fix it with one episode left. It needs one more season. GG is the only good show on CW. I will miss it very much.

54. What a shame. I'm really going to miss this show, although I hate to admit that the last 2 seasons haven't been up to par. Up until then, my daughter and I didn't miss a Tuesday night watching it together. Their witty dialogue and the quirky small town atmosphere were so refreshing. All of the actors/actresses have done such a wonderful job with their characters. I hope to see all of them in their future projects!!

56. say it isn't so! this is one of the few shows i religiously watch (have an alarm set in my palm just in case) and i have the dvds for every season. i'll be sad to see it end, but after amy and dan left, it's kind of lost some of it's spark. i'll miss seeing the great mother-daughter relationship i can so relate to.

59. It can't be over. I can't let go. I don't believe it. It can still change. I don't want to say good-bye.

60. The show went down the drain when Rory and Loralie fought and didn't speak to each other for nearly a season. That never made any sense. The show was based on these two women and the incredible bond they shared. That bond was spat on and ignored - hence the downfall of the series.
