"Gilmore" -- Goodbye Girls

Alexis Bledel & Lauren GrahamSay goodbye to Stars Hollow -- "Gilmore Girls" is officially over. Get out your kleenex.

In a statement to TMZ, the CW and Warner Bros. Television says it is "a truly sad moment for everyone" and promises to "give this series the send-off it deserves."

Sources tell TMZ that there were ongoing negotiations with the suits and the actresses in an effort to bring the show back for another season, but they were unable to seal the deal.

The final episode of the show, which launched the careers of Alexis Bledel and "Heroes" star Milo Ventimiglia, airs May 15.

91. I AM VERY SADDENED BY THIS...THERE ARE NOT MANY GOOD CLEAN SHOWS
ON. THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO CANCEL THOSE. THOUGH I COULD SEE IT COMING
BY THE DIRECTION THE STORY LINE WAS TAKING. THIS WAS A UNIQUE PROGRAM.
AND I LOOKED FORWARD TO IT ON TUESDAYS. NOT MUCH ON AT THE 8:00 SLOT ANY NITE OF THE WEEK. IT'S A FUN, WITTY SHOW. YES, THERE ARE ALWAYS THE
RE-RUNS... THANK GOODNESS FOR THOSE. WELL, GOOD BYE AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE CAST TO ALL THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS. WE'LL MISS U ALL

93. Every time I give CW a chance and fall in love with a show it gets canceled. I suppose One Tree Hill is next. I won't watch CW anymore.

94. I have to say that I am truely sad. Gilmore Girls is one of the only shows that I have actually watched from day one and not lost interest. I wish it would stay on forever!

95. Is there anything viewers can do to save this REALLY great, fun, engaging show?
Is it me or am I such a poor judge of tv show that every time something good and different comes on the air it is taken off?
thanks.

96. I always felt that they should have gotten more credit for this show. Lauren Graham and the young lady who played her daughter should have gotten an award. The banter between them was great and the two of them could pull it off. I'm sorry at this time her name escapes me. This was a great show, that never got the attention it should have. I always wanted Lauren to win an Emmy, but they play favorites, and never change, that is why award shows are so self-serving!

97. My grown daughter just gave me the news and iIam devastated. She was about 17 years old when she use to bug me to watch it, but I resisted. Then one night I watched it and I was addicted. I have watched many episodes at least 5 times and I still find something so funny that I may of missed the first time.
My daughter is getting marrried this June, and now this. All good things must come to an end. I will now go and cry.

98. There really isn't enough time to wrap it up properly - it will be rushed and we'll all miss out on a lot. i could see it needed to end soon, but one more season would have been better. stupid suits!!!

99. I think the Gilmore Girls should stay on atleast another year! You have to admit there hasn't been a show like this before. The great mother and daughter bond without a father was great and the story lines only get better. I watch every Tuesday night religiously and even got my family into it since they had to watch. I record the reruns everyday and probably watched them 5 times before I erase them off my dvr! I will miss the Gilmore Girls and will keep recording!

100. My all-time favorite show. Been watching since episode one. However, I agree that since Amy and Dan left it's certainly gone down-hill. I know a show can't last forever or it'll suck something major (see, 7th Heaven) but I was hoping for one more season. I feel the story can't fully be wrapped in two measly episodes. The Luke & Lorelai dynamic certainly can't be settled in two weeks...they barely are speaking again as it is. I was hoping that Luke & Lorelai would go on the boat trip together (in this season finale) thus re-kindling their passion and next season could be dedicated to re-establishing that connection and the show could end with a nice big bow wrapped around it...a good ending. So sad to see it go so suddenly (I mean, we all knew it was a possibility but the recent episodes haven't been heading in that direction). Best wishes to the cast. Lauren Graham is amazing!

101. This BITES! There is no way they can give this show a "send off it deserves" in only 2 more episodes! The CW has gone down hill this past last year. I will no longer have anymore shows to watch on that station. I hope CW gets what they deserve... bankruptcy from no one watching their shows.

102. What will ever happen with Lorelai and Luke? There is not enough time to wrap this up and there are so many more questions... what a bummer!

103. It's about time for this show to wrap up. It began getting old. I hope they do end it well, unlike all the other shows they canned on the old WB...

104. I am very upset that the show is going off the air. I truly enjoyed watching it. AND WHAT 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

105. well im am truly sad about my favorite show ending. although i must agree that the last season has truly been a disappointement. the whole christopher and lorelia thing was not necessary it just wasted time. i dont understand how with only two episiods left that the writers can allow luke and lorelai to be togher it doesnt make any sense. they should have just allowed those two to stay together and ended the season off right. this show wll forever be one of my favorites and will be missed...
