Taylor Hicks' Career Goes Idle

31. Taylor is the worst idol winner yet. He lags behind in sales of all other idol winners and appears to have some sort of disorder when he sings and dances.

But not to worry it will end soon enough and we will be able to get is CD it the 99 cent box at the local walmart soon!

33. What does this writer mean by "idle"? If Taylor having sold out concerts until July, several cd's out, including "Under the Radar" and "In your Time", as well as his newest release, personal appearances, working for several charities, etc. is being "idle" then yes Taylor is idle. Don't know how he could fit much more into his busy schedule. Just because you don't see him everyday doesn't mean he is "idle". I'll bet he's a lot busier than this writer. Taylor is fulfilling his dream, riding on a fabulous tour bus, and even bought lakeside property in Scottsboro, Al recently. He's doing what he couldn't do before American Idol. I'm so proud of him. Chris didn't lose. Fourth place is quite an accomplishment. He's going to be fine, too.

I have seen Taylor on Idol. He was on last night for Idol Gives Back and he has been in the Idol Challenge question several times. I hope he can perform on Idol before it's over, but with his busy schedule, he might not have time.

35. Chris Daughtry was by FAR the best thing about last season's American Idol. He's sold over a million copies of his new cd and this year AI uses his song as their "goodbye" song. THAT says a lot.

36. TMZ: I guess you missed all the personal guest appearances Taylor Hicks has made over the last year. Jay Leno/Tonight Show, Ellen, Martha Stewart, Today Show, Good Morning America, Regis and Kelly, Christmas in Washington (Entertained the President), and Grand Marshall of a New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade, to name just a few. He was voted People Magazine's Batchelor of the year, was invited to play golf in a major star studded golf tournament, and open a Nasscar race in Florida. Add to this his single "Do I make you proud" and his album, "Taylor Hicks" each went Platinum. Oh yes, don't forget the book he wrote will go on sale in July.

I think you should reconsider your opinon until you have all the facts. One concert in California verses his almost a hundred other concert tours, and many, many of those sold out to thousands, does not conclude that Taylor is washed up. It just tells me that people in Anaheim don't know a good muscian when they see one. That would be someone dressed appropriately, actually able communicate the song lyrics, not grabbing their crotch, screaming obscenities, and glaring at the audience with anger and contempt.

You can find me at the next Taylor Hicks concert in my area.

"album number hype"??? (laughing) It's cd's now, by the way.... and it means a great deal. It means that people are actually BUYING what he's singing. It also translates into tours and $$$. Chris plays venues that holds 20,000 and makes big budget music videos that stay on billboards top 100 for weeks. While Taylor plays venues for 1000 and his songs never even reach the top 100. THAT is the difference between good music and .....well...bad.

38. Taylor has made it known since he won, that he didn't need AI to have a career, and so why should AI mention him, he bashed them in the press OVER and OVER again. He is under contract for 1 more Finale appearance and that is all. Daughtery will sell more and his shows are sell outs also in much BIGGER venues. Taylor just happens to be the lowest selling AI winner to date. And his cd came out sooner than any other winners. If you recall his date was pushed further and further back because of his changes, I repeat HIS changes. Folks want to say it is becuase of a campaign on sells, you can't say it is the COUNTRY vote that made Carrier the best debut album from a winner or that the rockers pushed Daughtery, it is simple the music. Taylor's is BAD and even his loyal AI fans have said it over and over again, the CD is bad. So move on, in 5 years there will be 8 more idol winners probably and 40 more CD"S and probably none of the first 6 seasons will be recording, music business is short, short, short...remember Bo Bice, Tamyra Gray (Most talented contestant IMO, Christina Christensen, Amy Smart, ?) some probably not. Time Flies.

39. Taylor hicks is phenomenal... His career is only just beginning, and is nowhere near idle. He is touring, and will release a Memoir this july. IDLE- means you are not currently active, meanwhile taylor is touring his music all over the country and realeasing an auto biography, he is FAR from idle. He is also the best live performer i have ever seen. Buy his CD its well worth it. HE will last way longer than daughtry. Catch taylor on the Tonight Show WIth Jay Leno for the outdoor concert series on may 14 on NBC at 11:35 pm ET

40. Taylor sucks plain and simply. His fans are a very delusional bunch, the guy is a WASHOUT. I predicted last year he'd be a flash in the pan, he was a pure fad like Cabbage Patch Kids and the Pet Rock. Senselessness abounded and people voted because they thought he was "fun" with his ticks and spastic moves. He CAN"T sing more than a 5 note range, that's horrible! Can't sing a high note without growling or screaming. I would never pay to see this dufus in concert, now give me tickets for Katharine McPhee or Chris Daughtry and I'm there in a heartbeat. They have REAL talent!!

I actually don't know how this guy won in the 1st place.

I usually conquer with Simon on his calls, but this..... Could it be fixed - after all?

No body remembers him, and he hasn're done anyhting in the main stream to have people remember him. I called it on: Fantasia (another lost talent), Carrie, and Kelly, last year I thought it was going to be Daughtry ( and look at him now - regardless). This year Doolitle is a shoe in, but I fear she might be a lost talent as well. Blake has a better future...

It's just business.....

43. Well ... Taylor is a great performer. As a singer, he is nowhere near Chris or McPhee.

Winning American Idol is no guarantee of commercial success. Both of my grandmas love him but they didn't buy his CDs, they just wanted to see him dance. SO ... go figure!

44. you all are wrong about taylor he is a amazing artist all these radio stations want play his cd and that his why peopledont know that he is touring now and his concerts are saling out almost ever concert the newspaper are puting him down . how can anewspaper print som e thing if they dont go to one of his concert . his concerts are out of this world. he is doing what he want as a live preformer. he is the american idol and let him have his dream that he want to entertain his fan and let his voice be heard. soul patrol we love you taylor.

45. The problem with Taylor is that he is a victim of American Idol producers. They tried to turn him into a pop star while he's a blues rocker.....they should have turned him loose with a rock producer instead of giving him that pop drivel which appears on his album. Had they turned him over to me, I could have made some incredible records with him....too bad, because Taylor has some real talent!!
