'Dukes of Hazzard' Car

Sells for Almost

$10 Million

5/4/2007 3:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

John Schneider's personal General Lee, the 1969 Dodge Charger from the "Dukes of Hazzard," sold today on eBay for a shock-absorbing $9,900,500.00! Car-ching!

John Schneider General Lee
The sale marks the second highest finish for an auto auction, the first being the $11 million 1987 sale by Christie's of a 1931 Bugatti originally owned by the Bugatti family. The General Lee was purchased by William Fisher, owner of knifecollectors.com. Schneider, who played Bo Duke in the series, is currently starring in his own family film called "Collier & Co. -- Hot Pursuit!"

Schneider tells TMZ, "It just proves that when you clean out your garage, be very, very careful about what you throw away!"

The eBay page of the General Lee auction received over one million hits during the week-long listing. ON Saturday, Schneider is taking the car for one last spin, to fulfill a Reel Angels wish for an ill child who wanted a ride.

Why doesn't the buyer take that money and give it to charity. What a waste of money that could save lives! How selfish and pathetic .....

I can't believe how STUPID some people really are. The General Lee was a prop in a movie. This idot could have gotten the same make of car and refurbished and replicated it for under $50,000. He obviously has more money than he knows what to do with. Hey, idiot: why don't you throw your money to help underpriviledged children, the elderly or crime stopper programs. I hope the car breaks down on you.

That's just absolutely crazy. I bought a general lee from John Schnieder in 1998, and i sure as hell didn't pay $9 million for it. It was signed by John on the inside of the trunk, and i have all the pics and documents we both signed. In fact, i rode in this car that just sold. I should have held on to it, but i ended up selling mine to this local rock star. My bad luck........Jim

Oh SHUT UP. Stop harassing the buy for buying the car. OH MY GOD, he spent $10 million on a car, money that HE EARNED. What an ass!
Please. Not everyone is obligated to give to charity.

What about that $20 shirt you're wearing? Why don't you wear a paperbag instead and give that money to the homeless? Instead of drinking wine or juice, drink from puddles when it rains and give that money to the homeless. Instead of eating meals everynight, eat out of a garbage can and give that money to the homeless.

Please. You're all just jealous that you're $10 million poorer than this guy. GET A LIFE.
