46. This should have NOTHING to do with "fathers rights" it should be about protecting and what's best for the child which clearly Alec Baldwin is NOT!! He can't even be accountable for his own actions instead he and his idiotic "brothers" go on every talk show they can to promote a frigging book & blame the mother ( who has been very dignified by releasing only ONE statement) HOW PATHETIC!!!! He's not sorry for what he did or said to his daughter or the pain it has caused her, he's only sorry he was caught on tape doing it.
The issue at hand is what he said and did NOT who released it to the media, that message was left & directed at his daughter NOT Kim, he is the one who has been caught verbaly bashing the other parent NOT Kim!! I'm sure they both have had to deal with much worse over the years from this balistic, neurotic control freak so kudos to whoever it was who had the courage to expose him for what he truley is BEFORE his book is released, although at least he can count on Rosie to buy a few copies!!!!!!!

52. "Interesting" how a tape of Alec's voicemail to his daughter was released right before his custody hearing and now Kim Basinger is "very, very happy" with the outcome.

Alec has issues, but Basinger is far from an innocent party. Don't be surprised if, down the road, it's revealed (by legit sources) that she had a BIG hand in getting that tape out to the public.

I wouldn't trust Basinger as far as I can throw her.

55. Lisa #38: I don't know what courts being "liberal" (which they're not, but anyway) has to do with the issue. This sorry American judicial system is pathetic in and itself as a whole.

The bottom line is that in order to win big in custody hearings, one parent has to work the judge better than the other. It has zero to do with being "liberal" or anything else. Simply put, Basinger worked the judge better (and she knew very much what she was doing by releasing that tape to the public. Who else had access to it?) because she got what she wanted in the end - and that's all that counts!

I love how all these people on this board are passing judgment on Alec Baldwin simply because he's a Baldwin. They (along with myself) do not know the particulars of his situation, and Kimmy could have had Alec's rights revoked out of revenge. None of us will ever know for sure.

People have all said stuff to their kids that they've regretted later on, and I wish I could see the faces of all these perfect parents on this board as they say they've never, ever done anything like that.

Do some research, folks. Kim's not an angel by any stretch of the imagination!

It is quite clear that you are a big fan of Mr.Baldwn,and nothing he does is wrong in your eyes.Perhaps you should take off your rose colored glasses and see him for what he really is.He has proven time and time again that he has a huge problem with his temper.

I'd really like to know how you know that Ms.Basinger is"alienating her daughter from Mr.Baldwin willfully."Or how you know she is"mentally ill."Or that she released those tapes.As far as we've all heard,only ONE voice mail was released,and it was not sealed by the courts.As for Ms.Basinger's mental illness,she has been very candid about her battle with panic disorder.Gee,I can't imagine why she would suffer from such a disease with someone screaming and cursing at her(this has been recorded,and is indisputable)in public.One can only imagine what her home life must have been like.I'm sure the child has witnessed a lot of this herself.I can't say anything for sure,I do not know this family,but I'd venture to say that she did see a lot.And she is probably scared to death of him.He is clearly a misogynist.

I've never heard Ireland Baldwin speak.She appears to be a very intelligent child,quite normal for her age.Because her MOTHER has kept her out of the limelight and tried to give her some semblance of a normal life.Her father is always the one in the news.Arguing with someone.You never see Ms.Basinger out screaming at everyone.Everyone that has worked with her has said she's very professional and very courteous.The same cannot be said for Mr.Baldwin.

59. Bad Boy Baldwin went too far when he threatened his child and verbally abused her.... I hope this means he's lost visitation,. He's abusive and self centered and has no care for anyone but himself.

Personally I think they should ask the child what she wants, and she would probably say she doesn't want to see the jerk.

Baldwin's absence from the hearing is an acknowledgement that he knows his temper is unpredictable.

The saddest and most pathetic thing is that Baldwin should be getting professional psych help if he really wanted a chance at having a normal relationship with his daughter. How hard can it be to admit you have a problem and want to change for the better?

Without some kind of long term treatment, he shouldn't be allowed near her.
