Lets Get This Party Started
Before Jail, Paris Shops

It was "shopping-as-usual" for soon-to-be jailbird Paris Hilton yesterday. Just a day after being sentenced to 45 days in jail for driving on a suspended license, Paris was seen out and about with mom Kathy, lunching at swank joint Prego and browsing the pricey racks of Francis-Orr and Ermenegildo. Paris stopped her shopping long enough to tell paparazzi how she was wronged. "I told the truth yesterday," she said. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwanted and I don't deserve this."

Adding fire to the flames: Many of Paris' so-called friends don't seem to be taking her plight that seriously, reports the Daily News, though ex-boy toy Stavros Niarchos was there to comfort her. And Paris can feel good knowing that, says a pal, sometimes rival Lindsay Lohan feels "bad" for her. We're sure Paris is sucking up the sympathy.

Queen Elizabeth Shines at Derby

Some of Hollywood's most sparkly stars paled in comparison to the presence of real royalty at yesterday's Kentucky Derby. Queen Elizabeth, decked out in a mint green wool coat and matching hat, watched the race from a private suite at Churchill Downs. To make her feel at home, the Queen was served high tea on china, and munched on cookies decorated like the Union Jack. The Queen and her husband Prince Phillip were the guests of former British Ambassador William Farish.

Jenny McCartney Makes it a Double

Many celebs had to make the difficult decision between attending yesterday's Kentucky Derby or last night's Oscar de la Hoya – Floyd Mayweather Jr. match, but not Jenny McCarthy. McCarthy sipped mint juleps at the derby in the afternoon and then jetted to Las Vegas to cheer de la Hoya later that evening. Others who watched Mayweather trounce de la Hoya in the upset battle: Michael J. Fox, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Will Farrell, Leo Dicaprio and Jack Nicholson.

Party Favors...Jeremy Piven Dispels DVD Rumor...Roseanne Cash Peeved at Book

Jeremy Piven dispels the rumor that he stiffed a waitress her tip at Aspen restaurant Matsuhisa and left an "Entourage" DVD instead, as told in this month's Esquire. "That's the most insane thing I have ever heard," he says. "Who carries around a DVD?"... Roseanne Cash was miffed when Daily News gossip columnist Ben Widdicombe asked about a new biography coming out about mom June Carter Cash, written by Cash's half brother John. "I don't discuss that book," she snapped.

16. "...Mayweather trounce de la Hoya..."?????

Hello? SPLIT decision? That means at least one of the three judges saw it in de la Hoya's favor. It was a good fight and nowhere close to a "trouncing."

18. Regarding your Queen Elizabeth story:

I was not served "high tea", it was "afternoon tea".

"High tea" is an informal light supper, such as one might give children before their parents go out. It is not the same thing as afternoon tea at all.

19. Of course Paris is going to say this. It is this kind of thinking that got her there in the first place. She feels rich and entitled to act differently than the rest of us mere mortals....who if we were caught driving twice with a suspended license, we'd have the book thrown at us! Terrible, terrible parenting.

20. Paris probably won't serve one day behind bars.
Tramp Mommy is going to see to that and Wimp Daddy has a lot of connections in L.A., thanks to his real estate business and social circles so between the two of them I think their sleazy daughter will, at most, be processed in and out within hours.

Is it fair?
Hell no.
But the public is going to be furious whether or not Paris does her time or not. And that isn't going to change anytime soon so no amount of money, goods or real estate would be worth being Paris Hilton, in my view. What's "hot" is the lifelong justice that will be served to her and the fact she will never escape her dirty reputation.

21. Paris suggests that she is the victim of a cruel judiciary - "I told the truth.......". Ummm - She told HER version of the truth.

The Judge did not believe her defense based on the FACTS/ EVIDENCE before him. (Good job, your Honor.) Many convicts from various socio-economic backgrounds say they "didn't do it" and they are serving their time for doing the PROVEN crime.

Wonder how many informal and formal warnings she got from the police prior to this conviction? I'd sure like to know. SHE IS A MULTIPLE OFFENDER with a bad attitude - she did this to herself. And, if she continues with her public, unrepentant attitude, she may do herself further damage.

Any politician who attempts to intervene on her behalf should be booted out of office. If the Hiltons want to know how much it will take to make this all go away, I hope someone may tell them it'll take $1.7 billion dollars cash up front or 45 days in jail.

22. The Hiltons are pathetic and their hotels SUCK! I hope Paris gets 45 days...infact I pray on it. You play you pay, Paris.

24. June Carter was Roseanne Cash's step mother, Roseanne's mother was Johnny's first wife, Vivian.

25. June Carter Cash wasn't Rosanne Cash's mom. Vivian Cash was Rosannes mom. June is the woman that John had an affair with while he was married to Vivian. I would guess that's why Rosanne is a little hostile.

26. Paris, you made the decision to drive, you put yourself in this mess, stop trying to blame everybody else. These are the consequences for your choices. Smile : o )

27. Roseanne Cash is not June Carter-Cash's daughter. Her mother was Johnny's first wife,Vivian.

29. If you want to thank the LA City attorney for helping that brat, Paris Hilton sent to jail in June, e-mail him at:

Rocky.Delgadillo@lacity.org

Also, urge him not to accept any plea bargains. Make sure she serves the full 45 days! Now that's hot!

30. Everyone here is all on about Paris, and correcting the definition of "high tea" and whom Roseanne Cash's mother is...

Didn't anyone catch the misspelling of Jenny McCarthy's name... [hint, it's NOT "McCartney", as she is definitely not related to the famous former Beatle.]
