Lets Get This Party Started
Before Jail, Paris Shops

It was "shopping-as-usual" for soon-to-be jailbird Paris Hilton yesterday. Just a day after being sentenced to 45 days in jail for driving on a suspended license, Paris was seen out and about with mom Kathy, lunching at swank joint Prego and browsing the pricey racks of Francis-Orr and Ermenegildo. Paris stopped her shopping long enough to tell paparazzi how she was wronged. "I told the truth yesterday," she said. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwanted and I don't deserve this."

Adding fire to the flames: Many of Paris' so-called friends don't seem to be taking her plight that seriously, reports the Daily News, though ex-boy toy Stavros Niarchos was there to comfort her. And Paris can feel good knowing that, says a pal, sometimes rival Lindsay Lohan feels "bad" for her. We're sure Paris is sucking up the sympathy.

Queen Elizabeth Shines at Derby

Some of Hollywood's most sparkly stars paled in comparison to the presence of real royalty at yesterday's Kentucky Derby. Queen Elizabeth, decked out in a mint green wool coat and matching hat, watched the race from a private suite at Churchill Downs. To make her feel at home, the Queen was served high tea on china, and munched on cookies decorated like the Union Jack. The Queen and her husband Prince Phillip were the guests of former British Ambassador William Farish.

Jenny McCartney Makes it a Double

Many celebs had to make the difficult decision between attending yesterday's Kentucky Derby or last night's Oscar de la Hoya – Floyd Mayweather Jr. match, but not Jenny McCarthy. McCarthy sipped mint juleps at the derby in the afternoon and then jetted to Las Vegas to cheer de la Hoya later that evening. Others who watched Mayweather trounce de la Hoya in the upset battle: Michael J. Fox, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Will Farrell, Leo Dicaprio and Jack Nicholson.

Party Favors...Jeremy Piven Dispels DVD Rumor...Roseanne Cash Peeved at Book

Jeremy Piven dispels the rumor that he stiffed a waitress her tip at Aspen restaurant Matsuhisa and left an "Entourage" DVD instead, as told in this month's Esquire. "That's the most insane thing I have ever heard," he says. "Who carries around a DVD?"... Roseanne Cash was miffed when Daily News gossip columnist Ben Widdicombe asked about a new biography coming out about mom June Carter Cash, written by Cash's half brother John. "I don't discuss that book," she snapped.

31. mayweather didn't trounce de la hoya, it was a split decision, and it wasn't an upset because mayweather was favored.

32. I almost feel sorry for you, because you've really got to be retarded to some point.
But you're so annoying, I just can't feel sorry for you.
Retarded, stupid pig.
Are your parents cousins or something???
Your mom can't be that stupid just on her own.
Cheers,
B

33. Piven calls leaving an "Entourage" dvd for a tip "insane", yet why does it sound so utterly believable? In fact I hear very little good about Mr. Piven...wonder why?

34. I agree with cja in his comments on the Mayweather/DeLaHoya fight. Let me just add that I hope Oscar retires permanently now. He has nothing to prove and will only tarnish his legacy by continuing to fight. It is sad enough when great boxing icons return to the ring out of desperation and financial need.

35. Paris' incarceration is a joke. The judge knowingly sent her to a facility that is
over crowded; thus, she'll go in, paperwork processed, and released to her waiting limo. I doubt she'll do 2 hours.

36. Queen Elizabeth - what a contrast to the trashy, low caste creatures both male and female we are usually treated to. A dignified lady, dressed beautifully, enjoying the horses and the race, not there to be ridiculous as is the case with the "entertainment persons" we are subjected to and in most cases are not entertaining. Say what you will about the Royal Family. They have had some "interesting episodes" (boderline Diana) but they operate on a higher order of thinking. We have the Fall of the Roman Empire with the Hasselhoff video and the Baldwin voice mail (parenthood, celebrity style). It is a pleasure to see a smart, dignified woman who spent her life in the service of her country and continues to be a pillar in a world of broken bricks. Welcome, Elizabeth.
