Elliot Mintz No Longer on Paris Patrol

Just two days after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, Paris Hilton's longtime publicist Elliot Mintz has announced he is no longer representing the heiress. In court Friday, Paris claimed that it was Elliot who had mistakenly assured her she was able to drive, even though she had a suspended license. The judge, however, didn't buy her claim, and sent her to the slammer.

TMZ contacted Mintz Sunday evening, who issued the following statement:

The day after the hearing, I sent an e-mail expressing my sadness over the ruling of the judge and the irrational sentence he imposed. In that e-mail I also offered my sincerest apology for any misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation. To the extent that I have miscommunicated information I received from her attorneys......I am deeply and profoundly sorry. I told her that I assume personal responsibility for my part in this matter. I believe when stated in court that she believed it was o.k. for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful. Due to this misunderstanding, I am no longer representing Paris. For the record, I have nothing but love and respect for Paris and her family. Paris is a wonderful person and does not deserve the punishment that was handed down by the court. I only wish her my best.

Mintz-

You might want to leave that last lame attempt at spin doctoring off the ol resume. Seriously, what happened? Did you find an old stash from the John and Yoko days?

139. How pitiful is this that a grown woman at 26 years old has no idea following a court hearing that her license is suspended. She has a high-priced attorney representing her and she is relying on a publicist for guidance?

I used to think the whole Paris thing was sad. But it's gone way beyond sad. The whack job parents should be ashamed of themselves for their part in creating this train wreck. It's absurd that Kathy Hilton has the nerve to condemn the judge or prosecutor for making sure her daughter doesn't make a mockery of the judicial system (which is something giving that we're talking about LALA Land)

No amount money will fix what's happening in this family's life. What's going to happen when the last two young Hilton's get out there? Hopefully they will want to avoid the spectacle that is their sister's life.

Isn't it amazing that most people understand what the Hiltons will never comprehend...it's better to have a life with a modest amount of money based in reality, than a life of wealth that doesn't have any basis in the real world. They may be irritating and infurating, but you can't help but pity them.

I have been trying to make recontact with you. Please write to me at the above foundation.
Thank you.
Your old friend,
Tommy

To all else;

Please think of "Justice" be for you you agree to put anyone in jail. Do we know all the circumstances? No of course not. Then what gives us the right to any judgement? I say make a forgiving judement if any at all. Why? Because each one of us who is without fault should throw the first stone, and at that, they should be the only ones throwing anything around. Including judgements.
A very discusated with this pannel, individual.
Mr.T. Kelly
P.S.
Reserve your judgements for the real criminals that reside in Washington D.C..

141. With all due respect, Mr. Kelly, I think it IS fair to be commenting on Paris' predicament. She has already been found guilty of DUI and placed on probation (which she violated twice!). There's really no speculation in this case.

I know of your organization and the fine work it does in bringing awareness to missing children. I hope you continue with tremendous success for your foundation. We just happen to disagree on the issue of commenting on Paris.

Also, you might want to go through the normal Hollywood channels to contact Mr. Mintz. TMZ is not likely to forward the post you made.

143. I am the worldwide author of "Prison Of My Own," a true story of how our family survived the nightmare of my husband being sent to prison for 18 to life for murdering his mistress. I am also a public speaker and counself prison families and prisoner's children. I think Paris needs help from someone who understands the fear of being behind bars, how it will impact her life and I'd be honored to be contacted by Elliot Mintz or anyone who knows her personally to help her make this adjustment and share what this experience will be like. I'd like to inspire her with our story, which is far from what she is facing, yet very similar. When anyone goes to prison for anything, it is stripping away all that you hold dear and being left with the bare essentials. I'd like to help Paris and let her see that good can come from it. Just read our story. ABC News 20/20 is going to be airing it soon. I'm available and I'd like to help her through this experience, from our own journey through years of prison time....Paris, if you let God work on you when you've behind those prison walls, miracles can happen!
