Elliot Mintz No Longer on Paris Patrol

Just two days after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, Paris Hilton's longtime publicist Elliot Mintz has announced he is no longer representing the heiress. In court Friday, Paris claimed that it was Elliot who had mistakenly assured her she was able to drive, even though she had a suspended license. The judge, however, didn't buy her claim, and sent her to the slammer.

TMZ contacted Mintz Sunday evening, who issued the following statement:

The day after the hearing, I sent an e-mail expressing my sadness over the ruling of the judge and the irrational sentence he imposed. In that e-mail I also offered my sincerest apology for any misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation. To the extent that I have miscommunicated information I received from her attorneys......I am deeply and profoundly sorry. I told her that I assume personal responsibility for my part in this matter. I believe when stated in court that she believed it was o.k. for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful. Due to this misunderstanding, I am no longer representing Paris. For the record, I have nothing but love and respect for Paris and her family. Paris is a wonderful person and does not deserve the punishment that was handed down by the court. I only wish her my best.

123. Paris deserves to go to jail. 45 days big deal. If it was any of us "non celebrity" types we would be doing a lot more then 45 days. Why do celebrities always think that they are better then everyone else and shouldn't have to pay for what they did. It's about time someone showed her she has to take responsibility for her actions. The scary part is that she has "people" to handle all of this for her and she apparently takes no interest in what is going on with her legal affairs. She is an adult and should be responsible for herself. Maybe now she will pay a little attention to what is going on with her life.

124. Um. What about the court, cops and a paper you signed...? You know, when those on the legal side of things tell you something, it's probably true!

125. The shame here is, Paris will probably drive under the influence again. Odds are 50/50 wheter shes does any time, but either way, she will drink, drug and drive regardless. There is no way around it, but money allows advantages in all areas of life. Having the disposable cash she does, this is all more an inconvience than a lesson learned.

I tip my hat to the judge, however understand the system. The judge did all that could be done legally. Now the system will kick in. In the system money rules and rules are only for those with no money. Mark the day when Paris gets back behind the wheel (legally or not). And pray that the next time she does'nt hit some poor working class citizen. How much of a pain would that be for her next publicist to spin.

126. I think its horrible that her publicist is going to lose his job so he can take the fall for Miss Priss. Although, he probably deserves it if he's willing to do it. Maybe he would never get another job if he showed he is unwilling to take the rap for spoiled celebrity clients..

127. Hey Paris: You are not above the law and I am not buying it that you thought your license was valid. No one can be that dumb. You are no better than anyone else so enjoy your time in jail. You deserve it.

128. 1st of all why you ask your publicist if you could drive NOT and attorney? Oh, wait...because you are Paris who doesn't even have a high school education. Paris, get over yourself, we sure the hell are.

129. Paris, you and mommie dearest should make the most out of your entrance to the Graybar Hilton. Let's spell it out for you two really slow.....you are so O-V-E-R.

The line in Vegas is looking good that mommy pulls a Zsa-Zsa and slaps a deputy upside the head to join you behind bars. Can't believe this branch of the Hilton family continues to waste oxygen on the planet. Great grandpop Conrad must be slitting his wrists in his grave over the likes of this bunch of losers.
