Celebrity Justice
Slight Altar-ation in Paris/Church Story

A few newspaper websites are reporting that the judge who sentenced Paris Hilton did not get a standing ovation in church last Sunday.
Judge Sauer - Paris Hilton
They were right. Turns out the ovation was Saturday -- the day after Michael T. Sauer dropped the hammer on Hilton. Our bad, assuming people only go to church on Sunday.

According to several God-fearing witnesses, Judge Sauer went the day before, and as he walked in, the congregation erupted in applause. Several parishioners buttonholed the judge to express their approval.

Amen.

16. I applaud this judge. It's about time that the "celebrities" learn that they are not above the law and despite their "hard earned" money, they are as accountable as the "little people."

17. Why should she be pardoned because of who she is? She broke the law, and should have to pay for it just like anyone else would. Poor little spoiled brat. The ONLY thing that can save her right now is Mommy and Daddy's money. I will loose the one ounce of respect I have for Swarzenegger if he pardons her. She could have put someone's life in danger, and that is why we have laws. Laws that even money shouldn't be able to buy. I think jail is the best thing for someone that thinks they are untouchable. I doubt she even understands why this is such a big deal, she probably hasn't even seen past the fact that she actually got caught for something. If your gonna play, you have to pay. Be a big girl Paris and grow up!

18. I hope this jail sentence does not cancel the internationally televised dance show that was being planned featuring Paris Hilton and Michael Jackson -- the brainchild of entertainment entrepreneur Amy Sedaris. I had been looking foward to seeing Paris Hilton and Michael Jackson doing their version of the tarantella.

19. why should she be any different than everyone else. you want to play, you've got to pay. i understand her mother standing up for her daughter but we might as well do away with our judicial system if we cannot stand up for it. driving when you are drunk is not funny nor pretty. she previously broke the law and went under probation with the understanding that if whe broke her probation she would serve the term given. it is so sad that people with mone y think they can get away with anything and sometimes they have. what a world.

20. Way to Go Judge Sauer!! I have alot of respect and admiration for this man. You did your job, now it's time for the rest of law enforcement in CA to do the same and do their jobs.

21. I believe that the sentence for Paris is both not cruel and warranted. The judge handed down a fair sentence.Because so many people agee with the judge he is going to get alot of media exposure.I sincerely hope that does not have an effect on Paris' appeal. But more importantly -please judge - don't wind up on the cover of PEOPLE. That will just destroy your credibility.

22. ABOUT TIME THERE IS A JUDGE UT THERE THAT DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT PARIS AND ALL HER FANCY LIFE STYLE, MONEY AND DRUG CRAZY AND ALCOHOLIC FRIENDS AND FAMILY. YOU STOOD UP TO HER AND I JUST HOPE THAT THE GOVERNOR DOES THE SAME. THIS BROAD HAS BEEN GIVEN SO MANY CHANCE AND JUST KEEPS TURNING UP HER POINTY NOSE AT THE JUDICAL SYSTEM. SHE IS NAMING ALL THESE OTHER STARS IN TO THE HOOPLA NOW, BUT DOES THAT MAKE IT RIGHT OF WHAT SHE DID, HELL NO. PARIS ONLY CARES ABOUT PARIS AND NO OBNE ELSE, SO AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, SHE CAN ROT IN JAIL. IF ONLY SHE COULD. AGAIN GOOD FOR YOU JUDGE!!! WE NEED MORE LIKE YOU.

23. Great judge. If I was the judge, she would have gotten more. She is a poor excuse for a human being, but with a mother like she has it is not a surprise.

24. She deserves to be punished for drunk driving, but she does not deserve to be thrown to the animals.

When you know someone is about to be degraded, humiliated, and sexually assaulted, you have to be VERY sick to gloat over that fact.

26. she deserved everything she gets she is a talentless idiot airhead who thinks she can do what she wants cause of who she is. i commend the judge for doing the right thing and for once not lettin celebs away with it because of 'who they are'. and as for the people who are sticking up for her...WHY????? She is an attention seeking fool.

27.
The man deserved a standing ovation. Paris Hilton needs to realize that she is not above the law. 45 days seems like a fair sentence. I mean if she were just an ordinary American she would have already served time. She got caught three times driving on a suspended license. She claims that she didn't know she couldn't drive. I find that to be a bunch of BS. She thinks because she has money that she can get away with anything. As for the "free Paris" website. She's got a lot of nerve. She is in no way a role model for young people. The only reason she's even popular is because she was stupid enought to let a boyfriend film them having sex. DUMB!!!!!!!!!! I hope she rots in jain.

28. It was with near delight that I read that Poor Pitiful Paris had been jailed. KUDOS for the Judge. Maybe it will sink into her lil empty head that while most often a hefty check book can buy your way out of most things, sometimes there are those that do apply the law equally. It's about time someone put a boot in Paris boney butt. But we shoulldn't hold our collective breath. She will most likely slime her way out of this one too.

30. I think Paris' sentence should be doubled to teach her a lesson to shut up and pay the consequence like anyone else would. Her sentence should really be tripled. Maybe then, she'll disappear.
