Celebrity Justice
Slight Altar-ation in Paris/Church Story

A few newspaper websites are reporting that the judge who sentenced Paris Hilton did not get a standing ovation in church last Sunday.
Judge Sauer - Paris Hilton
They were right. Turns out the ovation was Saturday -- the day after Michael T. Sauer dropped the hammer on Hilton. Our bad, assuming people only go to church on Sunday.

According to several God-fearing witnesses, Judge Sauer went the day before, and as he walked in, the congregation erupted in applause. Several parishioners buttonholed the judge to express their approval.

Amen.

61. People (including those who wrote the petition) need to increase their reading comprehension. She is not going to jail for DUI, she is going to jail for Parole Violations.

First, she was driving on a suspended license. None of the people mentioned in the petition were convicted of that. Like Paris, all were processed and released on bail pending their hearing. Paris isn't (wasn't) treated any different in her DUI arrest nor in her Parole Violations arrest.

Second, the other Parole Violation was not signing up to attend the mandated Drug/Alcohol program. Again, all the people they cite in the petition were never charged with this Parole Violation.

To say, “my manager didn’t tell me” or “my manager misinformed me” isn’t a legal defense. Especially after signing papers stating she understands the conditions of her parole.

There are more important issues the Governor needs to focus on and whether Paris goes to jail isn’t one of them! There is a thing called the Appellate Court which is the next step in the process of over turning a wrongful conviction / sentence. The pardon process is to be used when all avenues have failed and there is a clear case of injustice.

Like so many “Rich” people they try to use their money and connections to get them off for crimes they commit. Just look at the opening statement in the petition; because Paris is a rich socialite, a celebrity and a rich real estate holder… she should be pardoned.

Excuse me… but that is not the American way! America was founded on the principles that all men are equal. That includes “a rich socialite, a celebrity and a rich real estate holder” who feels that she is above the law and can do whatever she wants.

Whoever wrote that petition should re-read it and make the needed changes; it comes off as a bunch of people who feel that their lives are so “mundane” that they need Paris in it to make them feel fulfilled.

63. I also applaud this judge...please make her actually do the sentence and not just show up for a couple of days and then be released..Our teenagers are influenced by this train wreck of a girl. Also why has this girl not been arrested for smoking pot as there are numerous pictures (Hello Evidence!) on the internet and when someone so blatantly beleives that they are above the law it influences our children. She acts like she is clueless and everyone else is to blame in the picture I saw on the internet of her smoking pot, she is doing it in public and it just seems to be ok if you are famous.........

64. Actually, it's not parole violations. It's probation violations. She's not on parole. Only people who are released from prison are on parole.

66. Paris violated her probation. What makes her different from the rest of the people who have faced the same circumstances and who have had to own up to their mistakes and pay the consequences. Haven't we had enough of rich, spoiled celebrities breaking the law and thinking they can get away with and the rest of society can't. She should get the max, she is suppose to be a role model. Yeah Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bravo the judge did the correct thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

67. It is about time that someone put her in her place. She thinks that she is above the law. Poor little rich girl. What makes her think she is better than anyone else. Too bad her parents didn't raise her right

73. Jiggy Gato, #52: You're a moron. You should be jailed along with your hero Paris Hilton. You sound about as smart as she does. That judge should get a medal for doing this. Do us all a favor and go overdose on something.
