Cameron Coos: "We're the Popular Kids!"

Click to return to TMZ.comCameron Diaz says that all the world's like high school -- and that celebs are the "popular kids" that everyone is just dying to know about. Good to know that Cam doesn't have a shrek of humility.

On the "Today" show this morning, Meredith Vieira just had to go there, asking Diaz what it was like to be on the same red carpet for the "Shrek the Third" premiere -- and share a kiss (on the cheek) with ex-beau and co-star Justin Timberlake. "We're friends, so we're OK," said Diaz. "All you want is that the person you care about to be happy ... It's like high school. We're like the popular kids. Everybody wants to know what happens to us."

...Until you reveal yourself to be just a little bit full of yourself.

49. #26.......*L* spell check; You are right. When we see these actor types in person, we see the void inside... sad. It's like nothing is going on between the ears. ...or in the heart. 53. Brainless as well as talentless. A truely sad combination but all too common for Hollywood. Cameron is the Queen of Mediocre. I think her glory days are behind her and she knows it and is now forced to live in a witless wonderland of denial. She's correct in a way...people do like to gawk at a train wreck. Did anyone catch her appearance on Oprah after the 9/11 tragedy? Who allows this woman out of her cage? Her thoughts on 9/11 are incredibly bizarre. I bet she wears a tinfoil cap to bed to keep the evil alien thought probe from sucking out what's left of her brain.

54. Wow! You guys are so cruel in here this evening. I agree with the Hollywood bimbo thinking, but all the hate just doesn't make sense! These folks are human beings like the rest of us. They have it bad when you think about it. If you are calling 30 something a "has been" and "old", then they have so very little time to become someone successful. How horrible to know that in a few years you won't work, and be called old at 36, and all the clothes in the world or money won't change it. Who would want that? But hate? I don't think so. I feel bad for them because they aren't getting a chance to build from the inside out... they miss that part of life it seems. It get's lost in their world of glitter and fame and it is the best part! Don't you all agree?

58. Yeah, and she was last decade's prom queen. She's even past Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. What she really wants is to be is a cheerleader mom and have a bunch of little Brittneys. Ouch!!! And that's as close to Justin as you'll ever be again. But wait...there's still high school reunions when you get to see Justin with a trophy wife worth a hundred times your annual salary and a third of your age, with lots of little darlin' Brittneys running around.
