31. Being a fan for 20+ years, seen him numerous times, Lovesexy, Act I, Arsenio, Glam Slam West, 4 am rehearsals, met him twice and I will tell you this...

He IS a fantastic artist, an iconclast and can get an audience worked up beyond belief, play a mean guitar which I think he's very underrated...BUT!

But, his live shows maybe be fun now, but NOTHING compared to his classic days. I'm talking Controversy era thru 1999, Purple Rain Tour, Parade Hit & Run's, Sign O The Times, Lovesexy Tour, Nude Tours, Act I & II...NOTHING like the magic of those shows.

I was at opening night at the Musicology show at The Staples and left there THANKFUL I got to witness the Lovesexy Concert.

I know, its an age thing, but also a religious thing, the mojo just was sucked right out.

On the other hand, I am grateful that Prince doesnt embarrass himself. No drug busts, serious women drama, no drunk driving, no serious plastic surgery mistakes, takes really good care of himself and tries his best to excert positivity.

But then there's the fan sueing, the copyright video and images on the net lawyer threats...does he appreciate his fans? Does he not see the benefit of new fans discovering his music and past work? Very shortsited.

I wonder if the cat is either really afraid to compete with his past or trying to censor his "nasty" past because of current religious beliefs. Never thought I'd see it.

Nevertheless, the O2 shows will be lots of fun for Eurofans!
