Paris -- I'm Not Above the Law

Paris Hilton has issued the following statement through attorney Richard Hutton:

"After reading the media's coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should -- no matter how slightly.

I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation.

No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."

498. Well now, it looks like Paris and/or her handlers have actually noticed how angry people are about her "poor me-I'm Paris Hilton and I'm above the law" attitude. They probably had to read it to her because she can't be bothered reading it herself.

She can try and sweeten her b.s. anyway she wants, but it still smells the same. Her sentence was not worse then it should have been. It was fair - based on how some people are sentenced in a similar situation - and some get even more time. Personally, feel it was too generous for her. And if she doesn't like the way many people on this site and in public can't stand her, then she can use her 45 days to give it some thought and come out of the slammer with a better attitude. Either way, she deserves to be in jail!

499. I think she should stand up and take her punishment, shes not any better then anyone else. And she shouldnt be treated any different.

501. Paris, you are not sincere or you would just go to jail and serve YOUR EARNED TIME like Martha Stewart did. You are trying to PR, it is not working...... QUIT WHINING - YOU ARE 26 YEARS OLD - ACT LIKE IT!!!

GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL = DO NOT PASS GO.

502. Who knows what she's thinking.
More important is what those N***'s and poor public school B*s will be thinking of her upon arrival. Karma is a real B*.
She can get through her brief stint by paying the proper people, and we all know she's got it. Hell she can even get her drugs if need be.

503. How much did mommy and daddy pay for that statement? Are you forgetting the cameras were rolling (night after night) as you got into a car with your so part snobs after drinking all night and wrecklessly sped away. You should consider yourself luckly no one has gotten hurt, or worst yet, killed. I have no simpathy for you, just pity that your only purpose in life does not include anything of value.

504. If this had been a normal everyday person, she would've gotten 60days and be let out around 50 if she had 'good behavior'. She's whining about 45 days? Come on now.

All you num nuts who are like, "UR JUST JEALOUS!" first learn how to spell. Second caps lock isn't your friend. And thirdly, jealous of a bony rich brat? Please. She's *no better* than anyone else--she puts her drawers on 1 leg at a time if she even bothers to wear them.

She gets away w/ this and what happens next time? She plasters some poor sap on Beverly Hill Blvd. and speeds away like Hailey Berry and gets a slap on the wrist? What happens when they die? Are you going to be throwing your support behind this brain dead bimbo then? Paris Hilton is irresponsible and should shut her trap and do her time. If anything, it'll help her image and maybe humble her a bit.

505. Bill and Melinda Gates give to charity more than the Hilton's total wealth in one day.
Warren Buffett, the world's second-richest person, donated about $37 billion -- more than 80 percent of his fortune to The Bill & Melinda Foundation.
Bill Gates has stated that he is planning on leaving his children $10 million each,
"Gates has always said, he will give away most of his fortune before he dies.
He plans to make sure his children are well taken care of but doesn't want to leave them the burden of tremendous wealth."
They have an estimated net worth of $50 billion, and with all that money Bill
drives himself to work in an average family car.
I have no doubts that the Gates children will grow up following the footsteps of their
parents.

506. How can this tramp justify she's a role model for young teenagers?
I only hope our youth learns the consequences to immoral behavior are unfavorable.

507. Paris Hilton hasn't even admitted to driving drunk. She acts like she was only
slightly "DRUNK". Your either drunk or your not. She got arrested because
she was drunk and driving.

She was drinking and she was intoxicated. What the hell doesn't she understand?

She will do her time, and get out and get caught drunk driving again. Only next time
she is going to kill someone or kill herself. Is she that stupid?

508. Just love seeing people on here and other sites saying how unfair this is. I think this extremely fair, considering , according to California law she could have been sent to jail for up to a full year. Also seeing people say that she is a great role model for young girls......Yeah if you want them growing up and being put in adult videos, and drinking and driving!

509. Paris I have some friends that would tell you to look up the law on driver license's because the last I heard from my friends was that the only people that are required to have a drivers license are people for hire like me I have a CDL to drive tractor trilers (semi's) so I would be for hire are you? I dought it! Sorry about my spelling I am not good with words only with cars and machines..........
