Celebrity Justice
Paris -- I'm Not Above the Law

Paris Hilton has issued the following statement through attorney Richard Hutton:

"After reading the media's coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should -- no matter how slightly.

I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation.

No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."

46. Pardon me while I hurl. Anyone who is so arrogant that she's "to busy" to open her own mail and to do the things she does. Deserves everythign coming. I've never seen anyone return from an alternate universe before and get a reality check. Hopefully lockdown treatment too.
Her parents must be so proud.

49. PARIS! STOP IT! Enough is Enough. I am a fan of your endeavors but you are really beginning to tick me off. Stop whinning about your little 45 day jail term. Look at the news. DAILY people are charged with less and jailed with more time. Take your punishment like a good gfirl and stop hanging with the low lives.
Thank You and I'll be waiting for your next showing!

51. SO WHY DOESN'T SHE GO TO THE POKEY NOW AND GET STARTED, DELAYING IT WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE.

HER ATTY/PUBLISHER HAD TO HAVE WRITTEN THAT - SINCE THE ONLY WORDS I HAVE EVER HEARD HER SAY IS "THAT'S HOT"

52. She was caught twice driving on a suspended license. The license was suspended for an alcohol related offense which is the worst kind. Anyone else would go to jail, so take your punishment and quit whinning!

53. I dont belive the statement either...if she really thought that way, she wouldnt be complaining about the sentence and trying to get apardon from a 45 day sentence. Please, we the public are not stupid, who does she think she is trying to play us with a lame azz statement..all she is a ugly, skinny rich chick!

54. Why not just put a tracking device around her ankle and keep her at home for 45 days? That would solve alot of issues.

55. I don't think she should serve 45 days...that's too much! All of you posting nasty comments saying you hope she get's tortured or other malicious comments are just evil! There is no excuse for driving under the influence but I think the judge is being too harsh on her because she's a celebrity. I'm sure if any of you had the money & fame she does you would try to pay your way out of this! Get over it! She's rich & pretty....she will continue doing whatever she wants for as long as she wants! Get over your nasty comments!! If you hate her so much why do you keep giving her all this attention??

Get over it!

59. I think that people are forgetting the offense here. Have you any idea how many people are killed by drunk drivers every day? I expect her to get the same punishment as a person who shoots into a crowd of people, but doesn't actually hit anyone ON TWO SEPERATE OCCASIONS because it is the same thing. Of course she thinks she is above the law. That is why she continued to drive drunk even though she knows the paparazzi stalk her for reasons unknown to me. That is why she is fighting this case like it's a murder trial.

60. She brought all the bad publicity on herself acting like a spoiled brat trying to get out of it. She certainly DOES act like she's above the law. Even after she goes to jail I'd be willing to bet she doesn't learn a lesson from it & will continue life just as she has. She didn't write that statement - it was her attorney. She's not smart enough to sound that intelligent. She's trying to get sympathy from anyone who cares, whoever those idiots are. The main reason she got in trouble was for driving while her license was suspended. You know if you are supposed to be driving or not. If she's so damn rich I think she needs to stick with a limo and a driver - duh.
