Pax -- Even Closer to Becoming a Pitt

TMZ has obtained the required public notices announcing Angelina Jolie's desire to change newly adopted son Pax's last name to Jolie-Pitt.

The law demands that Jolie publish information about the little guy's name change for four consecutive weeks -- in any publication -- so that anyone wishing to legitimately contest the the name change has the proper information to do so.

Sneaky Angelina chose the Daily Commerce, a small legal journal with a circulation of about 800. Fortunately, one of those readers is a TMZ fan! The posting, which has already been published three times, will run one final time in Friday's edition.

Jolie's next court hearing is scheduled for May 31, when Pax is expected to officially become a Jolie-Pitt.

46. Donna #36, thanks for reminding us of her bizarre behavior. She may have she d the Goth look (don't they all get dressed, made up and coiffed by professionals - left to their own devices they look like crap) but her mental health issues are only hidden by those who buy the "beautiful Angelina" facade. Adopting children like puppies, having your own child tossed in the mix will lead to interesting TMZ fodder in the years ahead. A child old enough to know his name, culture, etc., then have it all changed because "Mommy Strangest" is designing children to fit her emotional needs will certainly produce some interesting taboid material for a long time to come. How crazy are these "young starz" compared to past generations who were kept under wraps? Taboid journalism will live forever. Most interesting to watch these "entertainment persons".

47. Homewrecker Brad Pitt is overrated and he deserves the likes of Angelina Jolie. Neither one has real acting talent (and winning an Oscar means zip these days).

Give me a break with these two already!

49. This seems to be one couple that you either love or hate. I don't hate anyone, but I think also that these two deserve each other.. Hes a cheater IMO, and it seems that AJ gets what she goes after...Angelina is a liar, she is constantly changing her story, right now she is doing damage control, because these two have had some really negative press because of her big mouth. I don't think they will stay together, right now Brad is only there because of the kids, and the fact that they both have movies being released. I am a Jennifer fan, since before she married Brad, and I haven't liked Angelina since before she got with Brad..Some of the things she does are good things, but her image is forever tarnished in my book..And her kids will be the ones who suffer the most.

53. Angelina seems to have good intentions, but there are seems to be a quest to compensate for something. If you've every seen her earlier interviews, she talks candidly about always being unhappy, being hosptialized for a breakdown and even cutting herself. She has made a lot of great changes, but it is almost as if she is trying to re-create that initial feeling of adopting over and over.

56. I think its a bunch of crap. She stole a man from his wife and now does not even seem pleased with her own biolog. child. Poor kid! This "family" will crash and burn. They will never legally marry ....and i predict she will not have another child with Brad, must of been unplanned. She a great actor and a humanitarian, but she lives in a dream world. Poor white kids and kids from other cultures in the U.S. need good homes to.so I would not want one adopted by her.
