Neighbors: DiCaprio Demolished Our Deck!

Leo DiCaprioA California couple claims Leonardo DiCaprio's basketball court caused them a titanic headache.

In the lawsuit, filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Ronald and Joan Linclau say they suffered at least $250,000 in damages when DiCaprio had a basketball court built outside his home in the Hollywood Hills in July 2004.

The Linclaus, who live next to the actor, say that during the building of the court their property was excavated and some of their plants were removed. This, they claim in the suit, caused support for the couple's backyard pool and deck to destabilize. The Linclaus say they asked Leo to stop the work, but he ignored them. They also claim Leo has refused to pay for the damages.

A rep for DiCaprio could not be reached for comment.

18. Leo is such a jerk, I wouldn't walk across the street to see him. His fans (if he has any) are what put him in his position of celebrity yet, he comes across as very arrogant & unfriendly. And there's nothing particularly special about his acting EXCEPT he got the one gigantic break called Titanic. And his, and all the other celebs concern regarding the environment, is about nothing but themselves and a "cause" for them take a stand on this year. All the stupid demands these people make for comfort, do they expect us to believe they really would give up any of their comforts in the interest of the environment? They are a huge part of the problem if it can even be proven to exist to the extent they are making it out to. C'mon we may not be rich but we aren't stupid. The May issue of Vanity Fair with Leo on the cover and article about the environment is crap.

19. Ya'll are just haters! He's fine and you're not, so you're hoping these people win the lawsuit. We're talking about $250,000...that's pocket change to Leo. I really think that if he did something wrong like this, he would just pay because all this is is bad publicity...and again, it's only $250,000!!!!

20. If the neighbors prove in court that Leo's home project damaged their property, he'll probably have to pay up with court costs/legal fees. He may be able to get his contractor to drop the price of the project by $250,000. Crummy of him not to do the right thing upfront without having to go to court. He may want to keep in mind that those same neighbors had to tolerate the noise and traffic going on too. What are some ways to define the character of a man? In the spirit of fairness, Leo may want to ask himself that question.

21. I can't stand the baby-faced movie star who is always shielding his mug from the paps, but even I have to concede the neighbor's claim sounds lame.

24. The inconsistent truth. The "stars" that take on these Global issues are just playing it safe. They don't take on smaller projects that may indeed help on a more visibly present and reality based now. No... Take on the massive planet where you will remain safe in a feely good kind way.

25. Dose anyone really think these people ever spoke to Leo personally? I doubt he was around. They do have more than one mansion to renovate lol. Another case one can blame "His/Her Peeps" no doubt. If it happened at all.
I wish I cared enough to explore this Hollywood Swimming pool / B-Ball court tragedy further.

26. Leo it sounds like your neighbors are nothing more than ambulance chasers looking for anything and everything to file suit and make a fast buck over

27. Leo should just pay up if his neighbors can prove their case. It does not sound to me like they are trying to make a fast buck. The fact that he's their neighbor sounds like they have money. Stars usually live in high income neighborhoods. So they probably don't need his money. They could probably afford to fix it themselves, but why should they if someone else caused it.

28. Mr environmentalist is at it again. Moving plants and disturbing land to put in concrete. Remember when they disturbed all that natural habitat to film "The Beach"? I don't have a problem with it I just wish he would practice what he preaches. What an A hole!

30. Leo's coming across as another egotistical celeb. He thinks he's so wonderful that he can't imagine rules apply to him. He's probably shocked that anyone would dare question his actions.

As an environmentalist he's a hypocrite. With his wealth he could afford to set up his home with alternative energy and other eco-friendly technology. I wonder how much energy is wasted by his palatial palace, his private jet trips, and his luxery vehicles. How dare he ever preach anything to those who struggle and work for a living. He's lived in such a rarified environment for so long that his brain has been deprived of oxygen.
