It used to be that all she wanted to do was have some fun, but yesterday Sheryl Crow announced that she adopted a 2-week-old boy from the United States. Crow named the child Wyatt, after her father. "We are enjoying some very private family time," Crow wrote to fans on her website.

Crow's rep told People magazine that she'll be taking some time off from touring -- to be a full-time mom. Crow most recently finished a rabble-rousing 11-city Stop Global Warming tour with "Inconvenient Truth" producer Laurie David.

"Hills" bad boy Jason Wahler was charged yesterday in Seattle with assault, criminal trespass and underage drinking, after his arrest at a Seattle hotel on April 8. Local prosecutors want to hit Lauren Conrad's ex-BF with 10 days in jail, a $4,500 fine and chemical dependency treatment, according to Seattle attorney Ruth Bowman.

Wahler's already in hot water stemming from a slew of other arrests. He faces two charges in Greenville, North Carolina, for underage drinking and resisting arrest, and he's currently in rehab as part of a plea related to a September 2006 assault case.

TMZ has just learned that Morton's Restaurant, which hosts the biggest Academy Awards party each year, is set to become the West Coast branch of Manhattan's oh-so-exclusive Soho House Club. Nick Jones, the founder and CEO of The Soho House Group plans a $5 million dollar refurbishment of the spot, which will open as a private members club in 2008. And with it, a piece of Hollywood history will disappear.

Leo DiCaprio's neighbors filed a suit against the "Titanic" star over his backyard basketball court. Seems his neighbors believe that Leo "maliciously" crossed onto their property to erect the court back in 2004, destabilizing their deck and pool. ... Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo is facing a fine for being found by LAPD with a small amount of marijuana on him back in March. At most, the rapper-real name Jaime Luis Gomez will face a $200 fine and no jail time.

10. Who cares where the child is from? Have to laugh at some people who think it's probably more 'patriotic' to adopt an American-born child. (Our maniac Prez supporters, no doubt.)

I care and I'm gald she did it. There are many celebs adopting from other countries like if it's the IN THING to do. What about all the children here. Do they not matter to celebrities. There are many older children waiting as well for good homes in our Foster Care system. If you want to make a difference in a child's life, why not start in our own back yard. I know there are many couples here in the United States on waiting list for children and the goverment makes it really hard for them to adopt. They have to wait a least 2 yrs. for an infant and then there are so many fees they have to pay. ( I'm talking about in the thousands). So it's good to see a celebrity adopting a child from here. She will make a great MOM!

BTW HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY SHERYL!!!!!!!! BEST OF LUCK TO AND YOUR NEW BABY BOY " WYATT"

Sheryl Crow wanted to have a baby, she has said so for years. She just got out of a LONG relationship with someone that couldn't have anymore children and maybe feels like her time has run out. I say good for her.

A number of people adopt from other countries-I think that one of the reasons that celebs do is to avoid the press pressure on finding the birth parent and getting "the inside scoop". Anyone remember the number of stories that came from the father of the little boy Madonna is adopting? Think about the stories in the tabloids from a birth mother or father who needs the money that the press will pay to get rumors and other trash talk.
As to the pain that FLBmom is feeling-I think therapy is a good idea. You should have been offered some when you placed your child; assuming you used an agency and didn't do it all on your own.

MORE THAN I CAN SAY ABOUT ANGELINA JOLIE WHO DOESN'T EVEN TRY BONDING/NURTURE HER "OWN BIO-BABY".

What difference does it make which country an orphaned child comes from? Do you really need to check the child's nationality to decide if he/she is worthwhile to adopt? Are you that prejudiced that you only want to help someone with American nationality? Remember..unless you are an American Indian your ancestors have come from another country and you have no right to put down a child and say he is not worthy of adoption because he might be from somewhere else.

P.S. Sheryl Crow said she wants to be a full time mom now...let's see how long that will last...I give her a month or two before she gets bored and needs the adulation of an audience.

Funny how rich celebrity, can get an infant only 2 weeks old, and a white one on top of that. But a regular person, would have to wait for years, and still not get a infant who is caucasian.

So sick of the rich getting away with everything, and using their money to go around the laws.

She battled breast cancer- Chemo affects fertiltity. Plus, she is in her early 40's with no steady relationship. Good for her, she deserves the unconditional love of a child
