Lets Get This Party Started
Sheryl Crow Adopts

It used to be that all she wanted to do was have some fun, but yesterday Sheryl Crow announced that she adopted a 2-week-old boy from the United States. Crow named the child Wyatt, after her father. "We are enjoying some very private family time," Crow wrote to fans on her website.

Crow's rep told People magazine that she'll be taking some time off from touring -- to be a full-time mom. Crow most recently finished a rabble-rousing 11-city Stop Global Warming tour with "Inconvenient Truth" producer Laurie David.

More Trouble for "Hills" Jason

"Hills" bad boy Jason Wahler was charged yesterday in Seattle with assault, criminal trespass and underage drinking, after his arrest at a Seattle hotel on April 8. Local prosecutors want to hit Lauren Conrad's ex-BF with 10 days in jail, a $4,500 fine and chemical dependency treatment, according to Seattle attorney Ruth Bowman.

Wahler's already in hot water stemming from a slew of other arrests. He faces two charges in Greenville, North Carolina, for underage drinking and resisting arrest, and he's currently in rehab as part of a plea related to a September 2006 assault case.

Sacred Hollywood Spot to be Shuttered

TMZ has just learned that Morton's Restaurant, which hosts the biggest Academy Awards party each year, is set to become the West Coast branch of Manhattan's oh-so-exclusive Soho House Club. Nick Jones, the founder and CEO of The Soho House Group plans a $5 million dollar refurbishment of the spot, which will open as a private members club in 2008. And with it, a piece of Hollywood history will disappear.

Party Favors ... Leo Sued Over B-Ball Court ... Black Eyed Pea May Pay Small Fee

Leo DiCaprio's neighbors filed a suit against the "Titanic" star over his backyard basketball court. Seems his neighbors believe that Leo "maliciously" crossed onto their property to erect the court back in 2004, destabilizing their deck and pool. ... Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo is facing a fine for being found by LAPD with a small amount of marijuana on him back in March. At most, the rapper-real name Jaime Luis Gomez will face a $200 fine and no jail time.

31. In response to:

"12. 5. FLBMom, get therapy if you're so harmed.

And stop being jealous of Sheryl Crow. If anything, she's someone you should admire for adopting an unwanted child and one that'll undoubtedly have far more advantages than what the birth mother could have provided. That's something to celebrate, not criticize.
Besides, YOU have no idea what Sheryl paid to adopt this baby.

Reality check, I couldn't agree more. I don't know if the FLBMom person is jealous or not, but i'm so with you about the rest of it.

And FLBMom, no disrespect meant, but if you're so traumatized to the point of not being able to deal with it, as you put, "every day", then perhaps you should go get some serious help somewhere, because TMZ probably isn't your best bet on that one...
(And no, i'm not what you'd call a fan of sheryl crow...but then that's not really what your post was about anyway, was it)

32. Understandable that Sheryl Crow adopts after leaving Lance Armstrong. That cheater was probably so overdosed on on his doping drugs that he could never even get it up.

33. Some how adopting an American child got spun into hitler like patriotism lol and support for a president? huh? so as I understand it then.... going else where is a stand on the opposite? how silly. Adopting an American child in need of a good home has nothing to do with your personnal American issues. If it's not seen your way spin it into a political agenda I guess.

34. 25. Funny how rich celebrity, can get an infant only 2 weeks old, and a white one on top of that. But a regular person, would have to wait for years, and still not get a infant who is caucasian.

So sick of the rich getting away with everything, and using their money to go around the laws.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The little baby she adopted is black...why did you assume he was caucasian? What difference would it make what skin the child had..the point is the baby needs a mother and hopefully Sheryl will devote her time to raising him with love and pull back from her touring. Sarah you sound like a very unhappy person. Instead of being happy for her that she was able to adopt after going through grueling chemotherapy and having cancer you seem to be putting her down.

35. I'm happy to hear that Sheryl Crow adopted an American baby and didn't go half way around the world. There are many children in this country that need a good home & God knows these celebs can afford to give a child a good home.
God Bless YOU Sheryl & your new baby Wyatt & Happy Mothers Day!

36. More than 100,000 children in the United States are in foster care waiting for permanent families. Hundreds of thousands of children around the world are living in orphanages or substitute care and need homes. Trend or not, I'm just happy to see people in this country like Sheryl Crow setting a good example by adopting!! Not to mention all the other work she and many others have done for other causes. I couldn't believe the horribly judgemental comments I was reading about this!! That kind of negative, sad thinking and living speaks to the state of a lot of things in our country and in the world. There will always be war and pain and sorrow as long as people keep judging others so harshly. Sad..... We need to be putting our energy into promoting positive change in the world.

All the best to Sheryl and Happy Mothers Day!!

38. What does being happy the child was adopted in America have to do with nationality? who has that spinning top in their head? Don't place that reverse bigotry on me please. No one has seen a pic of this child yet!

39. I have a turd she can adopt. It's all natural. That should make her happy.

Posted at 11:43AM on May 14th 2007 by WHAAAT?

40. How do any of you know that she waited only TWO WEEKS to get this child? She may have applied to adopt several years ago. This may be the reason that she and Lance Armstrong split!

Posted at 12:25PM on May 14th 2007 by Adoption is good

41. I adore you Sheryl, and congrats on the baby boy. And I thank you for NOT joining the celebrity bandwagon thing and adopting a child purposely from another country just for the publicity. (Seems like white celebrities have an phobia about having children of the same race and that's just crazy)

Love ya and keep rockin'

42. Domestic adoption is alive and well, despite all the media hype that claims there are no healthy infants available for adoption in the United States. That said, however, it seems obvious that most reputable agencies and adoption professionals would be very cautious about placing a baby with a single parent who'd recently ended a longterm intimate relationship and undergone cancer treatment, because the stress of those events alone would compromise a single parent's ability to focus on the needs of a child without distraction. The sad part is that America is rife with adoption attorneys and unlicensed baby brokers called "adoption facilitators" who are more than willing to make any adoption happen-- for a price-- whether or not it is truly in the best interests of the child involved...
