Patty Hearst Tells Paris' Cellmates -- Run for Cover!

OK, we here at TMZ are stoked. None other than Patty Hearst (if you don't know who she is, you should) contacted us today about a story the TV show "The Insider" is reportedly airing tomorrow -- that Hearst is giving advice to Paris Hilton about doing hard time. Hearst spoke with Harvey Levin today (it's 100% her), and here's her letter:

Dear TMZ,

Imagine my surprise upon learning of the "advice" I had been giving Paris Hilton. In spite of reports to the contrary, I can assure you that I have not had any contact with Paris (or any member of her family) regarding her upcoming jail time, or any other matter. Like Governor Schwarzenegger, I have had many more important things to think about.

However, since I'm thinking about it now, I must say that my heart goes out to the inmates of the Century Regional Detention Center. Forty-five days with Paris Hilton and the attendant publicity seems like cruel and unusual punishment to me. Perhaps THEY should be petitioning the Governor for relief?

OK, that wasn't nice. But seriously, if Paris really wants my advice it's this: Read Candy Spelling's letter several times and take her advice to heart.

21. i have trouble believing this letter is real. It is too much like the letter from Candy. Paris goofed and deserves to pay for it. However I think people are unjustly vrucifying her and wishing her bad becasue of jer velebrity stature. . This is not right, I am no fan whatsoever of Paris but enough is enough, Paris is paying plenty with the negatice publicity and jail time.

22. i think paris is a stupid whore like everyone else but the jail sentence is definitely too much. a ton of other stars have been hit with duis/rape charges and don't have to go to jail and paris does for 45 days? that's ridiculous. and if this letter is real, patty's a stupid bitch who really isn't in a place to say anything

25. Paris Hilton is going to jail for drunk driving and violation of probation like thousands before her. What is the big deal about this and why is she getting so much press? The public seem obsessed with her and I haven't a clue why? How about our soldiers dying for nothing over in Iraq!

29. Really,what will the other inmates have to endure with Paris Hilton there,Iguess Patty would know, I have never spent time in jail and do not ever want to. My only hope is that this paris hilton news will go away soon,it is too bad we have to wait till june before she gets all this over with. I think we are all so over it !!!!!! Next news item please,minus Paris Hilton. What a spoiled brat !!!!!

We need people like Patty Hearst to share with others, their experience, strength and hope, they have been there, done that and know the system, Patty did some really hard time even before she was convicted and jailed. I would love for all those that write these very demeaning letters, think they are somehow above going to jail, making mistakes and being held accountable-responsible, they should be going to do some time and see how they act.
I have been in a Navy red line brig., now that is really harsh, I survived. I have been in jail and that was easy compared to the brig., I took those experiences and turned them into a positive experience, made up my mind I did not want to go back there, took responsibility, it was a wake up call, some of us need that.
I found God, was aved in spite of myself in jail, it was worth the trip. Take Chuck Colson, he was saved in jail, attended a kiddy camp, but turned that around and started Prison Fellowship.
paris you just do your time, stop murmuring and complainingg, take it on the chin, do your time and then turn that around to help others and it will all be worth it. I write books, speak, bless others, offer hope for addictions, help set the captives free all because I went to jail, seved my time. God bless you!
Remember; don't wind up like the Dead Sea, it is dead because water goes in not out, no outlet, don't be stagnet, don't wast this oportunity, be productive, get a life and help others, give the gift of love, tenerness and compassion.
