They came for the Natives, but I wasn't Native, so I said nothing.
They came for the Africans, but I wasn't African, so I said nothing.
They came for the Jews, but I wasn't Jewish, so I said nothing.
They came for the Irish, but I wasn't Irish, so I said nothing.
They came for the Latins, but I wasn't Latin, so I said nothing.
They came for every ethnic person one could think of, and then...
They came for me.......And there wasn't anyone left to say anything................
I wonder if people kept that it mine, if they would think twice about letting their freedoms slip away so easily..........People would be surprised how little freedoms we have left since 911.
If we give up our freedom in the name of safety, then haven't our enemies won?
Because if we are no longer free..........................................................
The sad thing is so many have gone before us who have died, and shed their precious blood, who have sacrificed, all in the name of freedom, and we willingly have already given some of those freedoms up.
I apologize if I offend anyone by my views, because it is not my intention that anyone be offended, but I am not a fan of this administration, yet I am very patriotic. I love this country, and I love our troops, and I don't want their efforts to save our freedom to be in vain. But, I am just one voice, and I cry and cry out hoping someone will listen, and join me and others
that are concerned about our liberties being infringed upon. I have written Congressmen, Senators, Representatives, and Governors, and Presidential Candidates letting them know that I think our freedoms are being taken away....I hope that if any of you feel remotely the same, that you too will let your voices be heard.

4517. Della, I've seen something similar, perhaps the same statement, but I'm not sure. It reminds me of what the holocaust survivors said about their ordeal. That's an excellent way of thinking about it! It also helps people to realize that we are all equal, despite how 'special' some people think they are! To me, that's why I rail against such artificial and dangerous mindsets that people use to identify themselves with in order to separate themselves from others. If I remember right, you are a few years older and wiser than I am at 41, but I am sure that like me, you have been able to witness our freedoms being slowly eroded away. I also think that most people are blissfully unaware of just this very thing. Despite a somewhat neutral sounding stance, strictly for purposes of discourse, I am Very Concerned about where our society is headed. Just look at new phones and cars. All of them have tracking and other information gathering capabilities built into them. Many justifications are made for this, but it comes down to the fact that we can be easily be watched by anyone with the right equipment to do so. The technology for tracking people is much more advanced than what many people would believe is possible. Many vehicular court cases have been won or lost from the information contained in the 'black boxes' that most new cars come with. Most people are unaware that things like speed, braking, acceleration, and other factors are available within the chips in most cars! And as we move to a more paperless society ( both in information and monetarily), it becomes easier and easier for people's every movement to be tracked electronically. I shudder when I hear of chip implants being placed in people. Do we really want all of our entire history to be available in one single card, or device? Even worse, do we want this info to be implanted within our bodies? Why is this red LED blinking in my hand? We're quickly moving in this direction and few complain. Just somethings to consider, but it doesn't look good! And what happens when all this technology fails, as it surely will one day? If the net shut down for one day, society as we know it would implode! Maybe these are the rocks and sticks we will use to fight ourselves if we survive long enough to have a 4th World War! I see no peace on the horizon. One of my greatest wishes is that I will be proven wrong on this before I pass onto whatever awaits.

ditto - thanks for the poem Della - I totally agree -
and Paul I agree with every word you say about the inertia and denial that is able to look the other way as we give in to another riechstag pretend democratic police state!
I have been the siren of my family of origin for decades screaming about the gold reserves being co-opted and replaced with paper, screaming about the destruction of our watersheds, screaming about 1 in every 75 Americans being imprisoned, screaming about the undermining of labor unions and pensions, the foreign policy that robs us blind while our infrastructure crumbles - I could go on and on and on and on and I have! My family and many so-called friends would just marginalize me by telling me this is the best country in the world and if I didn't like it I should leave it. Well, I believe, like you two, that keeping silent in the face of injustice means we are complicet to the injustice!
I have watched the nations of the world lose their sovereignty for decades in plain sight and I KNOW that I do not live in the United States any longer. We have been taken over by an international cabal! To the extent that we allow electronic voting machines will determine if we ever get back on the path to a democracy. How can we leave this issue alone? We need to do something about this before the elections, not afterward. I have such anger about how this has been done openly, right under our noses!
Put away the sports or whatever is distracting you America, and pay attention to the terrible stench of this Oligarchy that is robbing us of our soveriegnty. Civil Rights DO NOT EXIST any longer, not since they got rid of Habeaus Corpus. We are living in a nightmare and the dictator comes on tv and tells us to go shopping as a solution.
I am glad that the internet has the potential to expose the truth, but as long as folks are too overwhelmed and depressed to even address these issues all is lost! I'm so glad I live on an island with the biggest mote in the world because I see this pattern as having a nasty backlash - coming to a neighborhood near you. Call me paranoid if you want to - but to all of you who refuse to see this truth - you deserve what is coming your way. As for you Della and Paul thank you for caring and speaking up!
Please, lets make it time to get into community action (even if it is to reinstate a paper trail for the ballot boxes) because we have all been sold down the river to China. The collapsing banks are even courting China to bail them out - for God sakes are Americans already dead?
I believe in miracles and live as if I will need to feed myself without the help of a store. Get a seal-a-meal and keep enough whole grains to last your family for a year. Just like the Mormons do. That is the smartest part about that religion. They keep a year supply of food and rotate it every year. Even if this just gives you extra peace of mind it will be worth it to know that you didn't sit around feeling helpless about the fall of Rome ONE MORE FREAKIN TIME!
Pandora's grain mix (this recipe is my staple and I keep it sealed in bags every year)
wild rice
brown rice
millet
spanish lentils
a touch of flax seeds
a touch of sesame seeds
mix these all together with the bulk of the mix being brown rice and millet. experiment with these ingredients so that when they are put together with two parts water and one part mix, they will simmer with a lid to cook into the same consistency as rice. this simple move can give your family some peace of mind and a safety measure for whatever comes along. I keep water stored as well.
It is helpful to back our words up with actions that will help us have less stress. Sometimes moving away from a big city is the smartest move for a family. These are some simple things that will help us to feel like we are actually doing something along with continuing to speak out against losing our democracy.

4520. Pandora, U ROCK my sweet friend! And Della, ask Pandora to open her mythical box and ask her for my email- it's the only safe way to do these things! Della, you give me faith in people with faith! That's why I enjoy my other friends who are Christians! I almost, and I do mean almost, miss the old days of ED asking me why the sun burns in space ( with no air-Doooooooooh!!!!!). I don't miss all the haters tho! Nice not to see them stinking up this dying blog! I wonder where Mr. Lenny L. is these days? Certainly giving someone else a major headache, just for the jolly of it! And Pan, shweetie, I am still nosing thru pangasm, but it is intense and I need to slowly go thru it to make sure I get it all in! Cool, world saving/changing ideas in there!

Flogging- I hope you don't put off reading PanGasm...It totally freed up my mind as I read it...The first time through, I just read it without trying to figure everything out, word for word....Then I re-read it and re-read it, till all of it came to my mind together...I looked at it sort of as "Pandora's truth" and then I realized the more I read it, that it related alot to my own truth, but just couldn't put it into words.
It definitely takes you on a journey from cover to cover.

thanks flog and Della - I got goose bumbs reading your words of support and camraderie. I am so happy that my truth does not exclude other pro-life people. I have been dwelling in limbo these past 112 days and am on the edge of my chair with anticipation. So what did I do while waiting? Got sick and then I got up and cleaned the refridgerator - worked in the garden - swam in the ocean and next I travel across island to go and pick up the grains I was talking about above. I usually give these staples away every year because I store much more than what my little group could eat.
Since I live on an island I feel like starting a company and selling hurricane supplies - this way the other folks around me can have peace of mind as well. I've also designed and implemented a reforestation project that would restore our watersheds while at the same time create agricultural self-sufficiency. Still slogging through the political morrass - yet, all of the stakeholders continue to say yes. These are things that we can do that will make sense in the long run. Americans don't seem to realize that polluting and destroying our water supply is suicidal.
I think creating an emergency relief business that would gather and seal seeds and grains would be an excellent business anywhere - I patronize organic grain growers as a way of influencing the farming practices of my society. I feel like this is a small measure that has large implications. For those of us who feel helpless about the destruction of our watersheds and topsoil this is a way that we can make a difference just by changing the farmers that we support.
Thankyou Della and Flog(?1?) for the super wonderful words of support. I know I am on the edge of making a personal breakthrough in many areas of my life and am happy to beable to share this process with two quality people like yourselves.

I too miss the other characters that frequented this site, however, Steve_c was not very good to either Della or I - who could ever understand why he would treat us and our pov as if it did not exist in the rational world - especially in Della's case, since she was much more moderate and kind in expressing her pov.
He was an archtypical character for me that shows up constantly in my world - shaming me with criticism and silence like I had nothing of import to share. As well, he would belittle me for being open about my personal life - while his personal pov was largely quotes from others and demeaning comments about how stupid many of us are. Then he comes on here to say that he keeps with quotes because he didn't want to 'dumb down' the information that he was presenting. Personally, I am suspecting that he works for TMZ. And, I risk not getting this posted because they pulled my last post where i mentioned steve.

4524. Well, Well - the WIZARD OF OZ resigned today! Gawd, I would love to be the fly on the wall when that decision was made. The economic collapse that he is walking away from is daunting in its scope. One has to wonder if Karl Rove had intended to run the U.S. into bankruptcy? Do the multinational corporations that he has given free access to military and tax monies want to destroy U.S. soveriegnty? After all, he was largely behind the corruption that got Bush baby into the white house to begin with - with that smarmy Katherine Harris and the Supreme Court.
Giving Iraq to Haliburton, while giving America to China and an illegal workforce that has given the death blow to American workers is his special legacy. As well, he gave the pharmaceutical industry an open door to poison and gouge the population with bogus medicine as their anti-depressant campaign has caused suicidal and homicidal rampages across the land. I could go on and on about the corruption this guy stood by and sanctioned. It is safe to say that I hate Karl Rove and every thing he stands for. I want him to go to jail for treason in the nasty and scurrulous way he outed a CIA operative while accusing decent Americans of being unpatriotic while stripping them of their civil rights.
I think Americans have been asleep at the wheel or at least the deer in the headlights that are having a hard time believing any American would do these horribly evil and corrupt things to them while positioning himself as patriotic. It was his ultimate goal to make the Patriot Act his legacy. It is hard for me to believe that he has gotten away with this crap!
