Paris' Mom to Babwa -- Learn from Paris!

Click to return to TMZParis Hilton's mother Kathy took to the airwaves -- speaking through the oracle that is Barbara Walters on this morning's "The View" -- urging "young people who look up" to Paris to "learn" from her DUI arrest and impending imprisonment.

Babwa, friends with Kathy and husband "Ricky" for years, said she spoke to Mama Hilton yesterday, and read a brief statement from the convicted socialite's mom. "We can only hope that something positive will come out of this," said Walters for Kathy. "Hopefully the young people who look up to people like Paris can learn from this." Not to mention her videos.

Guest co-host, "D-lister" Kathy Griffin shot back at Babwa and the Hiltons, "If the 'Free Paris' T-shirts were more popular, she'd be singing a different tune."

61. I can't believe that Barbara Walters stooped so low as to read that BS statement
from Kathy Hilton. Was it not Kathy Hilton who yelled at the judge in court about
how ridiculous the whole case was and that her daughter doesn't deserve this
type of treatment? Yeah right, now she changes her tune because there is no
public support for Paris.

Barbara Walters should NOT be on the View, as she can never really state her
own views. She always has to play it safe. We don't want safe...we want good
honest debates of different opinions. This was a true low for Babwa.

63. Give me a break!! Barbara is sooooo afraid to ruffle the feathers of the rich and famous she just looks like an idiot now. Rosie is tooooo out spoken for her and all she is doing now is trying to stay on everyone's good side. WHO the hell cares of Cathy Hilton releases a statement for her 26 year old grown ass daughter. This girl is an adult, I had 2 children, a mortgage and an education by the time I was 26. This twit goes around acting like she is 16 years old still!! If the Hiltons were curing cancer, solving world hunger...doing something productive it would be a different story!! They are self absorbed assholes just like their daughter!! The View sucks now...Rosie is keeping to herself....Elizabeth is Fox News mouth piece and Babs is busy kissing rich ass....I can't wait for the show to tank and be off the air for GOOD!!

65. Barbara is embarrassing herself on this one!! Not only is she ending her career with the View tanking...but now she is sticking up for Paris Hilton?? Because she has been friends with the Hiltons for "years" that makes it ok to pardon their obvious lack of parenting skills?? After the first season of "Simple Life" it's clear Paris is....ummmm....slow??? What adult women acts that way in public?? She must have ridden the short bus to her private school. Barbara is a nasty old lying women who lied about Star Jones and Donald Trump, she called her so called friend Rosie's mom a bigot and never apologized....and now this. 67. Paris Hilton is not a role model for young girls and definitly not a person to look up to, if anything she is the type of girl NOT to be. She is the type of girl you would find listed on the bathroom wall as "for a good time call........". She is not the type of girl you'd take home to meet your parents. If my sons ever brought home a girl like her I wouldn't let them in! I can't imagine why any parent would be proud of an "adult" child who acts like that, but her mother sure is. I can only imagine what low self-esteem her mother really has. It sounds like she is trying to relive her own life through her daughter, kind of like Lindsey Lohan's mother is doing. Moms you don't party with your children, you mother them and try to keep them on the straight and narrow even when they don't want to hear it.

Thank goodness we had you to straighter us out! I thought Barb was given the "release" by Kathy Hilton. Glad to learn it was an old fashion in the trenches "scoop" I also was under the (obvious wrong) impression that any story about Paris Hilton indeed belonged in a gossip column and not a true journalism forum, as I assume you were referring to the View? lol.

It's a great thing we have that "Fairness" doctrine sniveling it's way through the country or else Id not know how to think, What to watch, Id not know the difference between real Journalism and a Gossip site, I might even find it difficult to smell BS.
My last thought. The self righteous tone of your post only gave it further weakness.

75. This is laughable. Instead of coming out & saying it herself, she gives a communique to Babwa to read? How arrogant is this bitch? After blasting the prosecutor in court, anyone she could rail at in the media & anyone associated with the case in general, Kathy Hilton is now trying to come off as a "voice of reason"?
