Celebrity Justice
Paris Drops Appeal

Paris HiltonUPDATE: Paris' lawyer has now officially filed a document with the court, abandoning her appeal of the sentence. Documents to follow shortly.

Courthouse sources tell TMZ that Paris Hilton has officially decided to drop her probation violation appeal.

We're told Hilton's lawyer had planned to file an appeal at 1:30 PM today in Judge Michael Sauer's courtroom. Sauer is the one who sentenced Hilton to 45 days in jail.

But we're told this morning, celeb attorney Richard Hutton had one of his peeps phone the court and say nevermind.

What's behind all this? Yesterday, Hutton met with Paris and informed her that the Sheriff has agreed to reduce the amount of time she'll have to serve to 23 days. The Sheriff has also agreed to put her in a celebrity cell, away from the general population.

Apparently, Paris feels her lawyer has gotten her the best break she can possibly get. So the intended appeal will not materialize and Paris will do the time.

31. No way she should spend anytime in jail! This is a crock that they are doing this to her. She doesn't deserve it! They let people off for more than her little violation all the time.
They are just jealous of her fame and beauty and want to show off....

33. Yep, good behavior when you have NOT EVEN BEGUN SERVING YOUR SENTENCE IS RIDULOUS!!

Got off easy with yet another slap on the wrist so SHE CAN GO OUT & COMMIT MORE CRIMES, DRIVE WHILE DRUNK, ETC & SO ON.

Must be nice to have $$$$$$

34. This is bull! I'm sure I have heard reports of her arriving to court 10 minutes late. She got pulled over 2 times and was warned that she was driving on a suspended license and let go. The third time the cop did his job and put her in jail. The judge did what was right and now the sheriff has agreed to let her serve only 23 days because of good behavior? Shame on him!

America's justice system is pathetic!

39. Don't worry people, she'll be back again soon after she does her 23 days, driving drunk and maybe she'll really hurt someone this time and go to jail for good. People like this never learn. They hide behind there money. "DADDY CAN YOU Give ME MORE MONEY ", I think I killed someone last nite,"driving drunk".WHAT A WASTE

41. Total BS! Dumb bimbo bitch, with no smarts, has done nothing to contribute to society. Money talks and bs walks. These people make me sick. Why parents let their kids look up to sluts like this is amazing. Anyone else would already be locked up and no special treatment. I also won't stay at another Hilton which aren't even that nice to begin with.

Lock this bimbo up for ever, who cares.

43. Did you guys see this last video?...I swear to god...some of Pappanazis need to get a serious life, and quit hanging out in front of Paris's house. "Did you find the house o.k.?..." "Did you hear that Paris would serve her sentence in a tent?...." what a bunch of morons. It's bad enough she's only serving like 25 days now, and will be in a "Special Unit". Whatever...this is another slap on the wrist to her. She'll be back at the Hyde club laughing at us all in a month....the brat.

44. unbelievable. The judge was kickass for giving her the time and no leniency, but that friggin' sherrif pussed out because he's a celeb head or whatever his motives are.

I just hopes she gets her a$$ beat or maybe just a little shank in the back. I wish no ill on anyone in the world except that twerp.
