OJ Simpson's Suit Suit

TMZ has triggered a legal war by breaking the story that a sports memorabilia guy is trying to peddle the suit that OJ Simpson wore when he heard the improbable words, "not guilty."

David Cook, the lawyer for Fred Goldman (father of the man Simpson slaughtered), filed legal papers Monday in Santa Monica asking a judge to grab that suit.

As TMZ first reported, Bruce Formong, a sports memorabilia dealer, was trying to sell the suit, shirt and tie for $25,000. Alfred Beardsley, another sports memorabilia dealer, has contacted Goldman and said he will be taking possession of the suit. Beardsley told TMZ on Friday he believes he could turn around and sell it for $100,000.

Cook tells TMZ he's "suspicious" that Simpson is behind the suit sale. Cook is asking for an order that the suit be turned over to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. The Sheriff is responsible for enforcing court judgments. You'll recall Simpson owes the Goldmans in excess of $30 mil.

Cook says if the suit has been sold, he'll ask the judge to force the seller to turn over the loot.

UPDATE: TMZ just got off the phone with Alfred Beardsley. He said he had a conference call this morning with Cook and Kim Goldman. Beardsley says he plans to acquire the suit, and the trio talked about the Goldmans getting a percentage of the sale to help satisfy the outstanding judgment. The court could engineer the ground rules tomorrow.

121. Ok I am only up to comment 60 but I have to jump in. I am under 30 so I do not remember the trial. Just the outcome. I was a kid and as bad as it sounds I just didn't care at the time. But the reports that I read it sounds like he was guilty. But I like everyone else who is posting was not there to say for sure whether he was guilty or not. If I was on his jury I would have probably found him guilty though, and I am black. I am tired of hearing about O.J. Simpson though. The more media coverage that this man gets the more notoriety that he receives. Which just feeds his ego. If I was Goldman instead of fighting for the money, I would be fighting to keep O.J.'s face off the televisioon set.

I do want to address the other coments about why can't blacks get over slavery and why should we have our own black history month. The reason we can not get over slavery is because even though our ancestors were freed from slavery that did not mean that we had equal rights. We did not. We did not have the right to vote. There was segragation. Prejudice. Hangings. This happened in the 20th Century. And many of our grandparents and great grandparents were alive. They remember. They went through it. They then in turn passed their stories to their children and grandchildren. We still encounter racism today. It has not gone away. I especially realize that by reading the posts. My mother raised me to love everyone and appreciate everyone's differences. No matter what race or religeon or disability they may have. I am not naive enough to believe that everyone feels the same way about me. Especially when I am being followed around a store because they think I am going to steal something.

Lastly we have our own month because when we send our children to school and they are learning their history lessons. They are learing about the history of our country and the leaders in our country have been white. They learn white history every year of their life from age 6 to 18. But those of you who dont understand black history, I challenge you to learn about it. We have a very rich culture. There have been very interesting black hero's in this country that are unrecognized. I am all for getting rid of black history month. If in return instead of one month that is dedicated, we rewrite history books to include the contributions my ancestors have made. So that every month we are recognized for the things that our ancestors did.

122. Well, A.J. if that is who you are and not OJ....

Anyway, I am white, would not be opposed to including black history as part of the school curriculum, and do away with black history month. After all, we are all Americans. But there are some blacks who are very racist, like OJ Simpson's jury. No one could ever convince the majority of Americans that OJ should be a free man today.

I was not there, but I believe O J SIMPSON IS A MURDERER as found in the civil suit and he needs to pay up to the Goldmans' and Browns'. That still is not justice, but guess that is the best the Goldmans can ever hope for.

124. they act like those two families matter but what about OJ two kids. Are they going to be deprived. I mean he cant buy them anything....Im sure the goldmans will take that away if he has to get them a car. This is unreal....he cant even pay his taxes either.

125. It is a crime that OJ gets to live a life of TOTAL FREEDOM, playing golf to his heart's content and doing whatever he pleases EACH and EVERY Day.

His attorneys, including the finally deceased Johnny Cochran used the RACE CARD to the Max and the rest is history.

Tthe general media including people like KATIE COURIC have Scored BIG TIME (Katie getting outrageous salaries) for Kissing up to Blacks and treating BLACKS like they are GOD. Sports media does the same thing.

Blacks have gotten FREE PASSES for University admissions and for outright Scholarships (even when they do not meet the qualifications that are required of whites and ASIANS).

Many are GIVEN Medical degrees and other prestigious degrees even when they do not make the grades.

Blacks have made it a PROFESSION to SUE (without merit) to become INSTANT Multi-millionaires and Billionaires.

The TV and print media are more than happy to oblige.

People like Jessie Jackson Eyes BIG, Profitable Corporations and makes it His MISSION to Sue (often without real cause) and gets HUNDREDS of Millions of dollars and robs the companies blind.

Ron Goldman's dad and sister as well as Nicole's family NEVER got Justice for the horrendous murders that were committed to their loved ones.

We Can NOT Allow the Same Fate for Anna Nicole Smith's mother, Virgie and daughter, Danielynn.

TWO people died under the watch of Howard K. Stern.

A FULL Scale, REAL Investigation needs to be conducted for both Daniel and Anna.

A Civil Suit will NOT do.

The guilty parties should GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL.

He needs to let go and morn the son who he didn't even get along with.......his 15 minutes are up..................get over it already and leave OJ alone.............OJ has children and has to provide for them...........whatever OJ did or didn't do, he will lie with it for the rest of his life................that is more than enough.........our Judical System says 'NOT GUILTY',................way past time to put this one to bed........Goldman needs therapy badly.

131. People-let us stop with all of these racial put-downs. We are all Americans! We are one nation united! OJ killed two people got away with it-that is the issue at hand! Who cares what race he is? That doesn't matter. Black folks-we need to get beyond this slavery mentality. We need to stop blaming "Da Man" for all our problems!!! We need to learn to take responsibility for our lives and our actions. All of this "karma" crap makes us sound ignorant!! White people- please forgive us Black folks for our blame-blame mentality.
