Paula Smashes Schnozz Trying to "Avoid" Chihuahua

Wait 'til Simon hears about this! As first reported by "EXTRA," ever loopy "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend, when she tripped while trying to avoid stepping on her dog -- a large, threatening, fear-instilling chihuahua named Tulip. (We kid, of course.)

Though she wasn't hospitalized, "EXTRA" says Abdul did suffer the nose-mashing fate just days before the live finale of "Idol." There's no indication that she'll be missing the big event, or that she'll have to wear any protective headgear -- to avoid Cowell's no doubt stinging barbs.

When TMZ contacted Abdul's rep, Howard Bragman, about the accident, all he would say is, "I didn't trip her!"

A spokesperson for FOX had no comment.

46. She might have substance abuse problems (past or present or whatever) but sometimes, people do trip over their dogs or cats. My idiot dog constantly was runing around my feet and such. Combined with the fact that it was one of those "rat" dogs you cant see anyway, it certainly could of happened.

48. We love you Paula, but you got have to be more careful. Every so often we see you tripping or almost falling. At times you seem to be out of it, difficult to talk, well, its seems almost like rambling, tell me, what makes you that way at times? Your the best at American Idol, without you, many would not be watching. Love to see and hear you singing more often, you have talent.

50. This is not right, she must have been out of it, to break a nose takes a harder impact then a simple tripping over a small bodied animal.

Well well hahaha...... a little unstable there a lil wobbly..... cannot do to much damage to her lil ole nosey make her hit the bottle if something doesn't go her way or maybe a few pills to make her feel way better...they need to replace her with someone who has style is not a alcoholic and knows what the hell they are doing...... she always looks like she is under the influence kick her to the curb please.... let her go party hardy with the rest of the hoes......and how was your week? HEHEHEHE.......
