8. Melinda was the best most talented singer, but I do not see her as a big pop star or an American Idol. Her style appeals to mostly the older generation. I expect she'll be seen mostly on the BETV or the "soul video channel" but will not get much radio play.

Jordin will become a bit star because she has "the package." She has "the look", is perfect for music videos, and her youth will appeal to the younger generation with the potential to be as big a name as Carrie Underwood, even if she may not be as great a singer.

9. She had a very good voice, but no personality. This contest is not the next American Singer, it's the next American Idol. In the past the American public has made mis-steps by picking winners who didn't stand out through a combination of talent & personality, and those people have not succeeded to the extent that others did. Perhaps the right choice was made this time after all.

11. Frankly, this year it doesn't matter who wins. None of them are very good. But Melinda was just too old and not marketable enough in the pop world. American voted and she wasn't it. Jordin is young, hip and has an amazing voice.

She was a cutie-pie in grade school. But she had a neck then, what happened to it?

No matter, she is hella talented and will be a star. I'm buying whatever albums she puts out because her voice was AMAZING! I'm sure she will be a legend in the industry!

14. Damn, how young are these people that you think 28 is old? It is her experience that gave her the steady voice that she has. Thank goodness!

But I do agree that 28 is too old for the 'pop' generation. Already Britney is a has-been because she turned 25 and is now considered Over the Hill!
