Coke Found in Lohan DUI Investigation

In a press conference this afternoon about the arrest of Lindsay Lohan, cops say they found a "usable amount" of a drug at the scene, which they say was cocaine. Lt. Mitch McCann of the Beverly Hills Police Department would not say where the drug was found, but it was "not on her person."

Police tell TMZ that 20-year-old Lohan and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when she lost control and crashed into a curb and trees in Beverly Hills around 5:30 AM. After the crash, police say LiLo got into another car and was driven to Century City Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries that involved "something to her upper chest area." Police said the two other people in her car were not hurt.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and "tracked Ms. Lohan to the local hospital, where she was ultimately placed under arrest" for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Lt. McCann said it appeared as if Lohan was speeding and lost control. She was cited and released and will have to face a judge.

A rep for Lohan could not be reached for comment.

78. Well, In California, because she is underage, she AUTOMATICALLY loses her license for a year, period. She cannot even drive for work, et al. So, the possession issue is a MISDEMEANOR dependent on what amount they are labelling "usable". If one of her passengers admits to the cocaine possession for her, then she will only have the DUI and what looks like possible misdemeanor hit and run. Even though she was transported to the hospital, she cannot have left with just her minor injuries without seeing an officer. She ONLY went to the hospital to avoid being arrested immediately. But hopefully thee is no slap on her wrist. SHe will most likely NOT GO TO JAIL, because there is NO FELONY COMMITTED, all misdemeanors. But again, she AUTOMATICALLY LOSES HER LICENSE FOR 1 YEAR, without a conviction(even the arrest is enough in California). So if she's caught driving, doing a Paris Hilton, then when she is on probation, that is when she may see any jail time. OF course money talks in Los Angeles, and she's totally out of control.
Hopefully the movie studios won't be able to insure her(remember Robert Downey Jr?) and she won't have any work for a while. Yep, the only way to hurt the rich is to take away the $$$$$$$$.
This girl came from F'd up parents, but is an adult and must take responsibility for her actions.
She's gonna look like an old weathery alcoholic/crack addict in a few years if she keeps this up.
So far, she is just a waste of carbon. What a waste of potential.

80. It is a good thing this happened in Beverly Hills. Let's hope their jails are not as crowded so that she gets the maximum possible. Do you think there is a chance she could go to state prison because of the cocaine....let's hope!

83. I agree with you Jenisis 100%. But this issue has nothing to with race. Even though people are trying make it that way. This is about a person in need of some serious help. And for the people saying they hope LiLo would have died, ya'll are dead wrong because you don't want someone wishing that mess on you.

Usually when a DUI suspect goes to a hospital instead of jail, the police will request a blood sample to determine intoxication since the suspect is not in a position to take a breathalizer.This means they will probably find alcohol and cocaine in her system, unlike a breatalizer that would just determine alcohol. She has really shot herself in the foot. As irresponsible as driving under the influence of alcohol is, it is still just a misdeamor.However, throw in cocaine and you are running with the big boys now. She's in *a lot* of trouble. Felony.

87. What's really amazing is that a 20 year old can drink at these clubs and the Alcohol and Beverage control allow a MINOR to be served and subsequently get into an accident!

God..I am so happy I don't live in CA.
Don't they have curfew laws for kids under 21.
I think everyone should write Arnold a letter and ask why all these underage kids are allowed in Clubs and SERVED alcohol. It is infuriating.
Does anyone even listen to Drew Barrymore's life story?
I am sure LiLO the Ho will get away with this like the rest of the Hollyweirdies do. You can bet if this was you or I, we would have been spending the night in jail, and be in a LOT more trouble than she will be in.
You know her worthless Mother would not be able to pick her up until she was sober enough to.

90. Remember when Drew Barrymore was drinking and drugging? She was doing those things a lot longer than Lindsay yet she didn't get a fraction of the criticism ( and outright death wishes) I see here on TMZ comments about Lindsay

Fact is, Lindsay isn't going to stop on her own. Even IF she does some jail time. Like Paris, she'll turn that into a profitable ad/venture.
What I don't get is why LAPD didn't take her license at the hospital...I guess they have to complete their 'investigation'? Well, lets just hope between now and then nobody gets dead. Ridiculous, these laws.
