17. I agree, Rip Taylor and Charles Nelson Reilly are American Treasures. I love their humor. I don't think Mr Reilly would be offended by the teletubbie. Did you ever see the outfits he would wear????? Rest in peace, you will be missed.

18. Charles Nelson Reilly was a staple of Match Game and before that, a wacky Sid and Marty Krofft's "Lidsville".

He made me laugh for many years ...

Thankfully, he will live on as a permanent fixture on the Match Game shows on Game Show Network.

He was out before it was trendy ... acceptable ... miss you much, Charles. RIP

20. Oh, get a grip people. This is in no way disrespectful. It's a sweetly ironic way to say goodbye. The proximity to the recent similar post re: Jerry Falwell is cearly meant to highlight the difference between a pithy and sarcastic acknowledgement of the passing of an open hater of gays, using his own ridiculous slurring of an innocent children's character. By using that same character to say goodbye to Mr. Reilly, who was 100% open about being gay, the image is turned on its head and becomes affectionate. Look at the context of TMZ overall -- it's never homophobic, so why would you assume this was meant in that way. Farewell, Mr. Reilly - from TinkyWinky AND the rest of your gay (and non-gay) fans.

21. TMZ, not looking too intelligent over there right about now. That kind of disrespect on your part causes you to lose some of the respect of your readers.

It wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now.

22. I admit it made me chuckle, but it's an unfair "gay icon" connection that has been marred by JF.

RIP, CNR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23. Teletubbie is inappropriate, disrespectful, tacky, not humorous. We someone dies, we show respect, period the end. Don't be a punk, Harve.

Thanks for the many years of laughter, Mr. Reilly. RIP, you will be deeply missed.

25. I guess I don't mind the Teletubby--but it would have been nice if you had included some text. A lot of the younger readers may not know who Charles Nelson Reilly is.

26. #15, I did not even get that , that TMZ thinks CNR was gay or the gay rumors there was ever about him soit goe sto show you how no oneis getting why TMZ did this...dumb move TMZ. I just thought they used TinkyWinky to say good bye to CNR since it got funny post from...TMZ,TAKE TINKYWINKY DOWN and PUT UP A PIC OF CNR. Fallwell and TinkyWinky had words after Falwell had insulted him,but Tinky does not fit in sayinggoodbye toCNR.

Sorry ,TMZ!!! You goofed!!!!

27. Boo! Come on TMZ....don't ruin a good thing. You guys are funny, not disrespectful. Be a little more sensitive to people's family and friends.

28. LEAVE THE TELETUBBY. if you could put it for a Christian man who had moral beliefs and convictions, than you can SURE AS HELL keep it for charles nelson riley. if you can laugh at the DEATH of a Christian man and mock him, you should shut the hell up and take the fact that there's a teletubby there now for a gay man. Neither one was better than the other. Both were HUMAN BEINGS. NOT A BIG DEAL, hypocrites.

29. Very funny guy! I only knew him from Match Game and Lidsville (the kooky kookiest place). He always made me laugh and still does when I see Match Game on Game Show Network. RIP.

30. Let's not belabour the point about the Teletubbie and let's pay some much deserved respect to a great performer. When I was growing up and running home from school to catch Match Game, I didn't know Charles Nelson Reilly was a gay man and I didn't care. All I know is CNR was a talented performer who excelled in many arenas (Broadway, TV, movies, commercials) and he will be sorely missed.
