Jaslene: I Was Abused

Dealing with Tyra and the rest of the ANTM panel was nothing compared to what "America's Next Top Model" winner Jaslene Gozalez had to go through in a past abusive relationship. The Janice Dickinson look-a-like revealed to Seventeen magazine that an abusive relationship nearly tore her apart. "I wasn't having my rest or eating the food I want to eat" -- obviously. "Things went down little by little. It was such a dark moment in my life. It was horrible!"

Jaslene eventually got out of the relationship and credits "Top Model" with helping her rebuild her confidence – even though so much of the show is based around tearing contestants down. Jaslene recommends that girls in similar situations seek out help. "Talk to somebody...That's what it took for me to let go."

62. I too didn't like Jaslene. I was beyond disappointed that she won. Had nothing to do with beauty, I just couldn't stand her obnoxious and self-centered personality. I love the title "I was abused." Shut the hell up! She was the idiot to stay in the relationship. It wasn't as if she were a child who has no control over the predator whether it's physical violence or sexual or both. She's more pathetic than I already believed!! You're a DISGRACE to the latina community letting some man put there hands on you and THEN crying about it!

64. #13... Refering to Jaslene as a "latina immigrant" makes you an ignorant idiot. She is Puerto Rican you stupid idiot- Puerto Rico is part of the USA and anyone born in Puerto Rico is born a United States citizen. Her getting on a plane and coming to the mainland is no different than if she had been born in Hawaii and got on a plane and came to the mainland. Besides she is from Chicago- "latina" is just her heritage. As for the Russian model, she is married to an American and living in the United States as a citizen. Everyone came here from somewhere- including YOU (unless you are 100% American Indian) thats what makes this country what it is today. Think before you speak.

67. You guys all suck! True ANTM fans love the show, drama, and both JAYS! Jaslene showed all the "right stuff" from show one and she clearly wanted it more than any other model. Her personal stuff aside, she was worthy and will do well in this industry. She never pulled the "abuse" card during the show to get "sympathy or votes" . She is sharing the information after the voting is over where it will not impact judges decisions but may impact some young girls life!!!

69. I don't think she looks like Janice Dickinson at all. Every season, they say someone looks like Janice Dickinson! If she does, it's ONLY in this photo.

And "Ya Think," don't be a moron. Natasha didn't speak English so great, but Jaslene's English is just fine. So what if she has an accent? If she's a citizen, then she's an American. Deal with it.

70. ANTM is a complete joke.
It is great t.v. but has nothing to do with the real world of modeling.
No one should take the show seriously.
It is aimed at young teenage girls who are so gulible they wil believe anything.
Its all rather depressing realy.

Congrats!!! My 9 year old Daughter Natalia predicted you would win from day 1. Great job at not backstabbing everyone to get to the top; you were truly true to yourself and did your best.

By the way, this is America's Next Top Model, meaning, you are in America competing regardless of where your family derived from!!

73. Maybe if Jaslene learned to speak ENGLISH -- you know, the language of our country -- she wouldn't seem like such an uneducated stick figure. I love all you people who can't deal with the poverty in your own land so instead of working to make it better, you come here and go on welfare. This wasn't America's Next Top Model, it was ALIEN's Next Top Model.

Why didn't Puerto Rico do what Australia did? Why didn't they hold their own Top Model competition? Puerto Rico is still another country, people. Check your atlas.
