Kathy Griffin Dishes on Rosie

The straw that broke Rosie O'Donnell's "View" back? According to Rosie pal Kathy Griffin, O'Donnell grew incensed when "View" producers chose to sensationalize the recent on-air fight between Ro and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck -- with a split screen graphic. Curiously, Griffin told People, it was the show's technical decision that pushed O'Donnell over the edge. "I said, 'What was it really?'" recalled Griffin. "'The split-screen." She said, 'I don't want to do "Hannity and Colmes."

Griffin, who's filled-in twice for O'Donnell in the past few weeks on "The View," dished about Rosie's reason for leaving to a sold out crowd at Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel and Casino.

Griffin also revealed that O'Donnell's hatred of Hasselbeck might not run so deep. When Rosie heard that Donald Trump had called Hasselbeck "stupid," she expressed sadness. "She doesn't even hate Elisabeth," said Griffin.

31. Elisabeth only used Rosie to gain conservative cred. I could tell she was distancing herself from Rosie 2-3 months ago. When Rosie announced she was leaving in April, Elisabeth was laughing. A month later Elisabeth seizes her opportunity to stab Rosie in the back on national television. Mind you, Rosie offered Elisabeth and her family to stay at her house in Miami for a week as a birthday gift only two weeks before the big fight. Elisabeth was no friend of Rosie. Luckily Rosie finally got the clue before Elisabeth latched onto Rosie like a parasite to further her career.

ELISABETH IS SICK.

32. Dang, I missed Kathy Griffin's Atlantic city version of what happened.... Hope she puts it in a future special.... I'm willing to bet her version of what happened would be enough to make me piss myself - the woman's hilarious.

33. To: l'il darlin, Sabinal, and Wilson Do any of you Republican yankees have a brain? Can you read? Can you write an intelligent comment without name calling? NO YOU CANNOT. You have been watching too much Fox News. What I said was, there was a time when Americans treated each other with respect and tolerance, now it appears, especially on the Republican side, McCarthyism rules again. As stated by your President ..... "if you are not for us you are against us" apparently this applies not only abroad, but also to anyone who disagrees with the administration at home. You are supposedly fighting for democracy in Iraq while you would deny freedom of thought and speech to those who do not agree with you at home. THINK!! The whole world stood with you when you were attacked and all that global goodwill has been squandered.

34. Rosie didn't care for the split screen huh

I thought it a great idea. Gave people a chance to hear both sides without Rosie dominating the debate by yelling & shouting. I imagine this indeed made her angry & stomp out.
She didn't want to be another Hannity & Combs? lol no chance of that. Rosie's views are pre written out for her by someone else & memorized. She dose not do research, Someone else gets what ever she needs to back her limited vision up.

35. Rosie's leaving The View because the advertisers wanted her gone. Word from the insiders.

I can't believe the condescending insults Rosie threw at Elisabeth. I can't believe Rosie's total disregard for any other point of view. So sorry other views make her incensed, fill her with rage. That's life. The rest of us have to listen to more than one view without flying off the handle. She can grow up, too.

Wait, wasn't she on a show called THE VIEW? Maybe she should have given that more forethought, before signing on. She had a show called ROSIE'S VIEW, but it ended. She had a magazine called ROSIE'S VIEW, but it tanked. Well, they weren't titled that, of course, but the end result was about the same.

I'm more than horrified at Rosie's admission that she cannot tolerate even listening to another point of view.

That split screen excuse is not the reason Rosie left. She can put that out there if she wants to, but the insiders say that the advertisers wanted her GONE, immediately, and she is gone. If the split screen thing were the issue, she could have worked that out with the producers so it wouldn't happen again. After all, Rosie came on the show and forced the producers to get rid of the ear pieces that the women wore to get directions from the director (big mistake, apparently).

There will be damage control from Rosie's camp and none of it will be true, but it is standard practice to let these people save face.

36. To "Rosie Facts,"

Love your comment. She is a complete and total hypocrite. Even if you are a Democrat or Liberal, I really don't understand how anyone can defend her. I think if she strapped a bomb to herself and blew herself up and killed a bunch of innocent people, that her supporters would still stick up for her. The people that support her will stick up for her regardless of what she says and does ; it's like they belong to a "ROSIE CULT" AND FOLLOW HER AND DEFEND HER WITHOUT ACTUALLY HAVING ANY OF THEIR OWN THOUGHTS OR IDEAS. IT IS TRULY THE CASE OF THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND!!!

And I doubt Rosie has actually ever watched a full episode of "Hannity and Colmes," but I can't remember the last time they had a fight that got personal. They stick to politics and that's all. They are always respectful of each other and when they do say something like " you're dumb," they are always kidding and they both laugh. Rosie makes everything personal because she wants everyone to feel as crappy and depressed as she does. I feel so sorry for her partner and her children.

37. Kathy Griffin is a PIG. I accidentally caught her 'comedy' act once...my group got up and walked out. She's a despicable human being. And she's buddy-buddy with Rosie O'Donnell?? Well. That sais it all. Birds of a feather and all that. The world would be a better place without the likes of them.

39. That is the biggest problem with you Republicans. You have to call people names, attack people on a personal level, scream your comments, won't give another person a right to their opinion if they do not agree with you. You all are vicious, mean spirited, a hateful group of people. The hate that you have spewed from your mouths for almost 8 years is just about to get on my last nerve and if all of my people that agree with me and Rosie would get a back bone and start talking back to these ignorant morans maybe we could change things because they have nothing but venom to spew out of their mouths. People outside of the U.S. did not go to war with us because they did not think it was a right thing to do, what part of that do you not understand??? We were lied to in the beginning with weapons of mass destruction that bush knew was false, but played that card anyway. What part of "being fooled" into a war do you not understand. Pride??? Well, I am sick of paying for your ignorant pride. My tax money should be helping secure our borders not create a democracy in a world that has never and will never be a democracy weither we stay or go. Ilive in a rural area and the recruiters for service are stirring here in my little are like maggots. Are they on George Bush's door step recruiting his two little darling party girl daughters and his cabinet, sentate and representative. How taking Cheney's lesbian daughter and sending her to Iraq to help her daddy receive his money his making for his and his buddy Georges pockets off of this war. You Republicians make me sick. You keep attacking Hilliary for voting for the war, she was given the same lies that got us here, she thought she was doing the right thing on the information she was given from Bush, but you all keep twisting it around just like you did for Kerry. What a joke you all are because your pride will not let you even open a door for some truths that are right in front of you. It is much more satisfiying to spew your venom. If you hated the View with Rosie on it then why did you watch it this past year. If Rosie had not been on the View it would have been cancelled. Let's see how long the show last now!!!!

41. If Rosie thinks we are the terrorist and 655,000 Iraquis are dead only because of us she better check her facts. Most are killing EACH OTHER and they will continue to do worse if we leave now.

And as a woman who cares SOOOOOOOOOO much about women's rights, she is not recognizing that in Iraq women are second class citizens who are like property. They need male permission do travel, go to school, ect. They are made to marry who their parents want. They are made to cover themselves from head to toe. Still stoned to death and many times have family members join in if they embarrass their families. I shudder to think of what a lesbian would go through if she "came out". But Rosie ignores all of this abuse to women and thinks we are the terrorist not realizing lots of the menfolk there have NO RESPECT for women other than property. So virtual slavery for women still exist but Rosie ignores that preferring to concentrate on the "Evil Americans".

42. To #34> Chattyida
First of all The whole world did not stand with us when we were attacked on 911 it took months for most of them to come forward. American's have always had different ideas on how to fix things in this country. The Civil war, Korea, Vietnam are just a few times in our past we disagreed. We will always love our right to disagree. As far as other countries standing behind us? Most relished in the horror we faced on 911 (including you) You have prejudice your attempting to hide, and beliefs that Americans cannot form a sentence nor educated thought . You thought America deserved 911!
Your negative views on Americans were there long before president Bush took office and long before 911. Your taking this opportunity when America is at debate and trying to decide how best to protect herself to enter in your self righteous slanted views. I personally could care less if other country's "like" us. I find them ungrateful, envious and dangerous with sneaky bigotry like your own.

43. I love America too!!!!! For a country that's hated so much, there are sure a hell of a lot of hypocrites trying to get in and live here. many people will even risk death for the oppurtunity to come to the U.S.

45. If you take away the pointless (and obvious) personal insults ("she's fat," "she's ugly"), Donald Trump is pretty much on the mark about Rosie: She's an unintelligent woman with psychological problems and self-destructive behavior. Her most obvious psychological problem is this NEED to be the center of attention. Much like Rosie's departure from her own show, her leaving The View was calculated to give her the most press, and the most attention, which she desperately craves. I can guarantee she'll make a "surprise" appearance on The View within the next two weeks, where the screams and cheers from the sheep in the audience will briefly quench her need for attention, and likely moisten her sweaty nether regions.
