Alcohol Agency Probes Lohan Caper

The agency that regulates alcoholic beverages in California has contacted the Beverly Hills Police Department to determine if there's evidence that Lindsay Lohan or other minors were illegally served alcohol the night of the crash.

As TMZ reported, in the hours before Lohan crashed her car, she was partying at a West Hollywood nightspot -- Les Deux. TMZ has video of Lohan leaving the club around 3:30 AM, an hour-and-a-half after closing time.

John Carr, spokesperson for California's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, tells TMZ that his agency wants to review witness reports and other evidence to determine if a formal investigation is warranted.

Last year, TMZ broke several stories of underage stars drinking at Hollywood clubs. Carr says that since our report, his agency has conducted 10 undercover operations at various clubs, though he wouldn't say if they got the goods.

TMZ contacted the rep for Les Deux. Our calls were not immediately returned.

33. They are not serious. This is just for PR and a good spin. There are so many clubs that serve the underaged rich and famous and it is no secret. One of the "B" List clubs may get a citation or some other strongly worded letter. That's it! Let's keep it real, John Carr. You've been PUNKED!

35. Lonnie Moore, co-owner of Les Deux told PEOPLE in a comment Saturday: "A lot of celebrities come [to the restaurant] for dinner or drinks. Because it is a restaurant, open five nights a week, there is no age limit for our patrons. We welcome Lindsay and her friends whenever they would like to come to Les Deux."

here is an excerpt from the restaurant....they welcome Lindsay and her group...but do they bother to ask for ID....the drinking age in Californa is 21 and these Clubs that cater to these underage irresponsible children should have their license suspended or taken away...this includes all Dance Clubs ...like Hyde etc............

36. #5 and #14 are both spot on!

I tell ya, money really does make the world go round. If this was east podunk and it was your average kid, there would be hell to pay and licenses would be revoked in a snap! What really gets my irie is that it seems the harder these young folks fall, the more popular they get, like some sort of street cred?

37. FINALLY! The A.B.C. needs to permanently revoke the liquor licenses for half the clubs in L.A. that continue to serve alcohol to underage celebrities with reckless abandon, since [they] desire to achieve a certain "status" by attracting trainwrecks like Lohan et al. The A.B.C. doesn't need to do to much "undercover" investigation when it comes to Nazarian's HYDE. His hot-spot clubs are by far the worst violators in the city. If it takes an incident like Lohan's car crash to stimulate the A.B.C. to get off their asses, so be it. They should consider hiring more inspectors + start with Narazian's overrated joints first! Sam Nazarian's clubs like HYDE are KNOWN around town, that if you are an underage celebrity, you are welcome anytime to come on in + get totally intoxicated. Note to Nazarian, under California law, owners of establishments that knowingly + willingly serve alcohol to minors can be directly held liable for injury or death resulting from any DUI by its patrons. Sam, I don't know what they do back in Tehran, but L.A. is a whole different ballgame, baby! I + others have fied complaints with the A.B.C. to revoke your license @ HYDE for months, maybe now all of my hard work will pay off before one of these child morons ends up KILLNG someone, and guess what, YOU wil be responsible!

38. When are producers going to wise up and see that this girl is a financial train wreck and stop putting her in movies that are never good! As long as people keep kissing her immature ass, she's never going to change & get the help she desparately needs. Smarten up Hollywood!

39. Les Deux is owned by the Dolce Group. The California authorites and the insurance carriers writing the Liquor Liability should cancel their polices for serving to underagers. Then Lonnie Moore and his gang can find out the ramifications of losing their license to do do business

They welcome Lindsay and her companions, but do they realize that serving a 20 year old liquor is against the law. How do places like Hyde and Les Deux get away with it. I was at a liquor store last week and a 20 year old bought alcohol and an undercover cop areested him, and the stores license was suspended...I live in California and know that the law is: Drinking Age Is 21. Maybe the cops should investigate these places and shut them down or suspens their license. Lonnie Moore acts like he did not contribute liquor to a person under the age of 21. He should be held accountable also.......

42. Duh, "investigating" if underage minors were being served? Come on Cali, you know you pump these stupid starlets full of liquor to promote whatever. But it's necessary for an investigation? Whatever, middle America is not stupid.

44. Any one of us who thinks ANYTHING will happen to any club owner is full 'O crap. This situation has been going on for years and years. A majority of these clubs would close down if underage "stars" are barred. Waaaaaayyyy too much money for that to happen!!

45. Finally, on behalf of the young people today....

It is definitely time that California (where I reside) and other states wake-up and revoke the liquor licenses of ALL establishments permitting underage people in their doors and serving them alcohol and/or selling drugs to them! It's all about narcissistic GREED on the part of the owners and they need to be shut down.

I grew up in the Midwest years ago and bars/clubs would have their liquor licenses revoked (blink of an eye) under these circumstances!
