Brian Williams -- Can You Spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E?

NBC anchor Brian Williams said "NBC Nightly News" would not be reporting on Lindsay Lohan's vehicular escapades on Tuesday evening's newscast ... due to a "lack of time!" But earlier reports of old age home Wii players and wacky wedding dancers -- plenty o' time!

This weekend's photos of Lindsay Lohan's car crash were front page news worldwide, but when Williams was asked by the Boston Herald about LiLo's antics being on his broadcast, the uptight news nerd said, "It does not and it won't be NBC Nightly News ... we have Justice Ginsburg reading her dissent today from the bench. We have record violence in Iraq. ... We've got a whole lot to cover and very little time." Oh really?

The "Nightly News" managed to find the time for the earth-shattering news of videogame-playing geezers, the vitally important news of the hot new teen craze sweeping the nation -- needlepoint, and the life-or-death reporting on novel wedding choreography. Clearly, this is hard news compared to the travails of our beloved Firecrotch.

46. If they ran stories about all the F-Up's in Ho-Wood, they're never have time to air anything else. Go NBC!

47. If more news sources would take Brian Williams stance, maybe Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and Britney Spears, etc. would all just go away.

48. Lindsay Lohan isn't world news worthy, he is right. Who cares what else the station ran instead. I don't want celebrity gossip on my world news. I will watch ET, buy a magazine, or come here for fluff news.

49. Wait a minute. You think in a 30 minute broadcast that coverage of LINDSAY LOHAN is appropriate??? Heaven help us.

50. GREAT MOVE ON THE PART OF NBC. LOHAN IS ONE SELF-ABSORBED, SICK JUVENILLE, WHOSE CONTINUOUS RANTINGS DO NOT WARRANT TIME ON THE BROADCAST. SURPRISE, TMZ, I WOULD RATHER SEE NBC'S SEGMENT ON ELDERS PLAYING VIDEO GAMES AND TEENS SEWING THEIR OWN CLOTHES.
TMZ, GET OVER YOUR SHOCK AND STOP LOWERING THE BAR.

51. TMZ staff, God willing, one day you'll be mature enough to understand why Americans who watch the national news would rather see what the seniors are doing for fun after 25 minutes of Iraqi troop daily death tolls, college campus death tolls, and skyrocketing gas prices--not the DUI arrest of a 20 year old starlet in California. News flash: the universe does not revolve around Hollywood. Just stick with what you do best, and let NBC Nightly News stick with what it does best.

52. How are glamorized drug addicts, alcoholics and amoral celebs newsworthy? NBC made the right decision.

And TMZ, stop giving them so much coverage. This constant in-your-face coverage has outworn its welcome!

53. TMZ

Maybe the Nightly News has some integrity and does not find the antics of a bunch of rich spoiled bitches news unlike you and the rest of the rags. America really likes to see a person down and out. I am so sick of hearing about all of these fast paced car wrecks of brats who parade around Hollywood as if they are royalty. Some of these chidren can't compare to the chld actors of long ago. Even they had their problems but they were not as public (or maybe because TMZ did not exist yet) with their mess. i have become a racist because behind my computer thanks to your site and so has a lot of other fine Americans. There has got to be an end to this lunacy because I believe that this site breeds hate and negativity. I also noticed that you always keep the racist comments up but will replace a positive comment in moment. You need to check your ethics TMZ before your site gets censored!

54. I can't believe some douche on your staff took the time to criticize NBC News for not covering that crash. THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S NOT NEWS!!!!! Christ that's arrogant. You know how many car crashes happen every day? Just because you guys report on it doesn't mean that they should devote any time to this. Entertainment news maybe. But to slight NBC news because they didn't cover it... jesus, that's a pretty good indication of what's wrong with your country.

55. Let's face it folks - WE ALL WANT TO READ ABOUT LILO AND DILO! And we Americans want to watch it over and over and over again on TV. War in Iraq? Forgetaboutit. Rising gasoline prices? Forgetaboutit. Crooked politicians? Forgetaboutit. But, LiLo and DiLo, with a sprinkling of Britney - NOW THAT'S NEWS WE AMERICANS CARE ABOUT!

BTW - Any other news turn up about the Tara/ DiLo thing at the Rosdale bday bash?

56. PS - And to all of you who think NBC is so great, why in the hell are you commenting on these stories on tmz? Now that's hypocracy!

Posted at 9:15AM on May 31st 2007 by Boy Howdy

57. And Freakhater, what in the hell would you read about now? If you're so PBS-oriented, perhaps tmz is not for you. Too bad you care so much about LiLo that you chose to read about the story. Now go back to your PBS friends and tell them how self-important you are.

58. I think what Brian Williams did was GREAT---thank God someone can not report about these spolied brat losers. The way he did it was even better---having time for other light hearted stories, but not loser Lohan. WAY TO GO BRIAN!!!!!

59. 19. "The trashy antics of the new millennium girls is just that and lets leave their stories on the back page and off the TV news. I DON'T CARE!! GO NBC!! Now, lets get FOX NEWS off the air. TV would be getting back to what matters, real news, not filler."

Good luck with that little girl.Fox News is the highest rated news on Cable TV by a long shot.
I realize that you're young, but please don't be a follower.Just because all of your favorite Liberal celebrities say Fox is bad, doesn't mean it is.They represent both sides of each major political party, and often interview very powerful people from both sides.
If you have a MySpace page and you truly believe in your cause, you should take it down as Rupert Murdoch owns MySpace as well as Fox News and many other Fox programs such as American Idol,So You Think You Can Dance,The Simpsons etc.So you might as well boycott them all.
You call a woman like Greta Van Sustern filler? She is a huge advocate for missing and exploited children and women and a well known Liberal.
Not everyone on Fox News is a Conservative. They get paid for what they do.It's called a job. They don't have to believe in what they report.Just like CNN.MSNBC,etc.As a matter of fact,Greta got her start at CNN.Shepard Smith was a reporter in Central Florida before moving on to bigger and better things, like his own show on Fox News.I live in Central Florida, and I'm telling you..Shep is no Conservative.
If you're not a young lady as your name implies,I apologize. But whether you are or aren't,you should think things through before making such a comment..
There are plenty of other TV stations you can watch.Better yet,why not read a book? You really shouldn't try to take a Freedom away from other people just because you don't agree with it.All you have to do is change the channel...or as I said..read a book.

60. Brian,
This is music to all the parents and teens ears. No one, but no one gives a good darn about Lindsay, Paris, Britney, and whoever else hangs out with these indecent no-life slugs! They are as disgusting as their parents who never disciplined them.

It is about time the news organizations leave sleazy, whory behavior to the rags and let decent people raise their children without all the garbage out there. There are plenty of stars who ARE decent in Hollywood and they get no press because bad behavior is what? more attractive. That's a sad statement for our society then.

These underage fools do NOT belong on the news except to let us know they've either gone to jail or become a statistic due to their ignorant and appalling behavior!

We're all MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE AND THE NETWORKS ARE FINALLY HEARING OUR MESSAGE!
