Brian Williams -- Can You Spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E?

NBC anchor Brian Williams said "NBC Nightly News" would not be reporting on Lindsay Lohan's vehicular escapades on Tuesday evening's newscast ... due to a "lack of time!" But earlier reports of old age home Wii players and wacky wedding dancers -- plenty o' time!

This weekend's photos of Lindsay Lohan's car crash were front page news worldwide, but when Williams was asked by the Boston Herald about LiLo's antics being on his broadcast, the uptight news nerd said, "It does not and it won't be NBC Nightly News ... we have Justice Ginsburg reading her dissent today from the bench. We have record violence in Iraq. ... We've got a whole lot to cover and very little time." Oh really?

The "Nightly News" managed to find the time for the earth-shattering news of videogame-playing geezers, the vitally important news of the hot new teen craze sweeping the nation -- needlepoint, and the life-or-death reporting on novel wedding choreography. Clearly, this is hard news compared to the travails of our beloved Firecrotch.

61. Re: comparing NBC Nightly News to the cable news networks: NBC, ABC, and CBS only have 22 minutes to do a broadcast, while CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc., have 24 hours to fill. Let's fondly remember Wolf Blitzer on CNN covering Anna Nicole's death for HOURS on end...so little ones, if NBC chooses to fill its 22 minutes each night with about 5 minutes of international/national news, and then fill in the remaining 17 minutes with promos for upcoming Dateline reports and the latest news on seniors who Wii, then I will have to get my LiLo and DiLo news from the cable networks...and tmz!!

62. I totally agree with Brian Williams and NBC News's decision not to report on Lindsay Lohan's latest DUI---and why is Brian Williams a nerd--because he's smart and classy?!
This world needs more people like him and less people like Lindsay, Paris, Nicole, Britney, etc. NBC News reports important news like Iraq, the upcoming presidential election, etc--websites like TMZ, ETonline and the like report on celebrities--and the timing of these websites could not be better---every day it seems they have something juicy to report about a celebrity scew up--where are the Audrey Hepburns, Grace Kelly's, Jackie O of today?

63. This is why she was #1 on Maxim's top 100 list:

"There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay," said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. "Her every move is watched and reported on."

If everyone would do as NBC is doing she should drop to 20th at the very least.

64. GREAT NEWS ... I'LL STAY TUNED TO NBC. AM SICK TO DEATH OF REPORTS OF THESE STUPID POPTARTS ... LINDSAY, PARIS, BRITANY. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT THEY DO AS LONG AS THEY ARE KEPT OFF OUR STREETS IN THEIR HIGH POWERED SPORTS CARS AND AWAY FROM THE PUBLIC. BETTER STILL, LOCK THEM UP IN ONE JAIL CELL AND LET THEM BORE EACH OTHER TO DEATH ... RATHER THAN THE PUBLIC THAT IS FED UP WITH THEM.

HORRAY FOR BRIAN WILLIAMS. HE HAS MORE SUPPORT IN THIS MATTER THAN THAN YOU KNOW!

65. I applaud NBC news and Brian Williams. This crap with Lindsey is not worthy of NBC news. Who cares if all these young girs want to make fools of themselves by doing drugs, drinking, and starving themselves. The war in Iraq, and all our young soldiers dying , and high gas prices is news worthy not her going into rehab. What wonderful role models the young girls of today have. Shameful. Go NBC.I applaud you!
