Click to return to TMZ.comA band recording an album in a bubble on New York's Pier 54 was scared s**tless yesterday -- when a plate glass window shattered!

TMZ has obtained video of Atlanta based rockers, Cartel, along with their mothers -- who were in the bubble cooking dinner for the band when the front window of the home/recording studio exploded during tropical storm Barri.

The band members, who had been sealed in the bubble for 10 days to record their sophomore album for an MTV reality show and 24/7 webcast on www.drpepperbubble.com, promptly ran out in the rain screaming, "Freedom!!!"

The band immediately returned to the bubble after being yelled at by their moms.

I totally think this is a big advertising ploy for MTV and Dr.Pepper to generate the big ratings. I believe alot of press outlets have already picked up on it...i dunno just my idea.
