Hassled by the Hoff -- For Real!

Don't hassle the Hoff? TMZ found out what it's like to be hassled by the Hoff -- or his handlers, at least.

TMZ caught the David at a Fifth Avenue book signing of his new autobiography, "Don't Hassel the Hoff," (yes, that's how he's spelling it), and he seemed happy to see us -- until we started asking about the custody battle with his estranged wife, Pamela Bach. Still, he was all smiles inside, especially when signing a Barbie box.

But when he left the store, Hasselhoff sent out a phalanx of security to run interference, and when our cameraman simply tried to get a shot of the "Baywatch" star walking to his car, a particularly zealous publicist tried to block our lensman's view -- with a clear water bottle. Then, a security guard clapped his hand over the camera's lens, shoving our shooter toward the street.

C'mon people -- this is David Hasselhoff we're talking about, not Simon Cowell.

2. Two wrongs don't make a right. Why is it that if a celeb is in public and the Papz are there--why can't the star just be nice? He is at a book signing. Just say "Hi" smile and let them take the pic. Security? Stars want attention.
Baffling.

5. TMZ get a palm reader to read that guy's hand.
I think he has a short life line! If so spending his days defending the Hoff might not be the way to go.

6. So if he's ONLY David Hasselhoff, why is TMZ trying so hard to get to him?

11. I think by pretending to avoid the paparazzi, loser Hasselhoff thinks it makes him look like he is actually important enough to be worth the film time, like he is just SO famous, he has to beat off the paprazzi when he should be sending them all thank you cards for bothering with him at all. Why IS anyone that interested in bothering with z-list Hasselhoff? And his publicist says "shame on you" to the camerman? LOL, that was a public street, buzz off, bitch, YOU should be ashamed, you are David Hasselhoff's "publicist?" You call that a job, LOL? What happened, no openings at the local Taco Bell?

12. There is just something psychologically satisfying about seeing a guy that had the world at his feet and bay watch women on their knees (to get on his show...)completely losing control and sinking to the depths of disgust. I know that is mean, but he had his years of total bliss...most of us have never had a week of bliss.

13. TMZ there is an easy solution. Simply put your camera down and don't take his pic anymore. He is a has been so it would be his loss not yours.

15. I co-sign with ps. If TMZ wasn't there to take his picture and make him feel his oats, he'd have to something to get your attention. I doubt he'd sober up, butcha never know!
