G.A.Y. Fan Is Enrique Iglesias' "Hero"

Enrique Iglesias gave a lucky fan a night to remember -- when he turned up at London's G.A.Y. nightclub on Saturday. Fierce!

The Spanish crooner pulled a same-sex fan up onstage and sang his hit ballad, "Hero," to him. While there was no man-on-man kissing, Iglesias did come up behind the fan and hug him during the number.

Just last month, Enrique sang the same song to an underage female fan at KIIS-FM's Wango Tango concert. Wonder how on-again-off-again girlfriend/wife/who-knows-what Anna Kournikova feels about all this!

31. he is just showing a little tolerence in a sweet and funny way,to me it makes him look like a very kind, educated civilized man with a sense of humor, super cool.

32. It is great that Enrique could play where ever his fans are and not worry about his sexuality. Would there be any discussion if he performed in a different ethnic club? Three cheers to Enrique. You are a big man.

35. When one is reduced to gigs at a gay club who cares what girlfriend/wife/who-knows-what Anna Kournikova feels about all this!
She most likely is just glad the rent got paid!

36. He did the same thing in London, the whole thing is scripted, its a delib attempt to get him more publicity!!
He's doing this at every appearance,at same point in every show, same ''talky bit'' leading up to it

37. This was very uplifting to watch - I don' t think his gay nor do I care if he is, here you have a guy that treats all his fans as equals! I also dont care if it might have been for "show" - it rocked either way. Loved him - kudos to him! This is how the world should be!

38. THAT song, "HERO" was on the radio enroute to work one morning and was the last thing I remembered after a near fatal car crash 2002. So I have no criticism other than to say that the world needs more LOVE.

40. I agree with ya Prince on what you said about Enrique being almost heroic in his performance at the gay club in London. Just because he connected to a part of his fan base does not make him gay. He is very comfortable with his sexuality and it showed with the performance. I think a closeted gay man would have never ever been brave enough to do what he did. It doesn't matter what he or anyone else thinks about gays, he acknowledged that they are also important to him as fans. I applaud his effort whether people want to think he was "pandering" to build gay support or not, it really doesn't matter. The fact that he reached out to a shunned part of the population makes me admire him even though I am not gay. We all have feelings and we all love music, both straight and gay.

41. Bravo! To use a famous quote...."This is one small step for a man and a giant leap for mankind" True humanity at it's best!

Congrats to Enrique for bein brave, humane and understanding. Hey we are all just people.... not gay or straight or whatever. HUMAN BEINGS who need love, support and each other. THINK outside the box. This does not make him gay.

America is too uptight about sexuality. Get over it. MOVE ON.

Enrique in the new MAN. Free to express feeling and show emotions.

42. Enrique is secure with his sexuality... at the end of the day, he has a job to do....and he did it! I think that was one of the sweetest things I've seen in a long time and I agree with the other ppl here that say that more ppl should be doing the same thing.....spreading the message that we are all the same.....a collective consciousness, something in the world has to change because there is too much hate and seperation. The world would be a better place if we all just loved eachother regardless of our differences.....thanks for taking that step Enrique....I'm INSPIRED to do better things!

45. I think I just gained a whole new respect for Enrique! For a celebrity to go to a gay club and serenade a male fan the way he would a female fan and not act homophobic.... Most men, no matter how open minded, would not have done what he did. A hug and arm around the young man, etc. It's really great that he gives his gay fans that special moment just the way he gives his female fans. No other straight man would do that.
