62. Since when does the Sheriff's department over rule a judge's decision without following I would imagine what is considered standard procedure? Who else in that Jail is Sheriff Baca doing and override for? If this is indeed a case of her expressing a desire to harm herself, then doesn't a special motion have to be filed? These things cannot be arbitrarily done via the Sheriff's department?!? What other city does things this way? LA has had problems with thing (celebrity justice) for a long time. That is why OJ is still walking the streets. This is a prime example of why this city needs federal oversight. The Sheriff's department determined Paris was a threat to herself so they figured she would do better at home and they thought people wouldn't notice....how many other inmates at that facility have wanted to kill themselves, and were probably thrown into solitary confinement or put into a loony bin without counseling????
Couldn't they let her go a few days more without blowing the whole thing up again by doing funny business with her sentence? The way they did it has opened up a whole new Pandora's box of questions of procedure and justice. Lee Baca is a ding dong, and so if Paris if she thought this would work. It turns out Sarah Silverman was right. Arggh!!!

70. Our justice system is a joke. I hope the city attorney is able to reverse this travesty.

I can see how it must have been awful for her to be in jail without her pillow and cell phone.

I'm sure she learned her lesson - 3 whole days that were counted as 5 so she doesn't have to suffer in that mansion for 42 days instead of 40.
