Celebrity Justice
Cops: Paris Under House Arrest

Paris HiltonParis Hilton has been fitted for ankle bracelet and reassigned to house arrest, after authorities decided to release Hilton from jail due to medical reasons, this according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson, Steve Whitmore.

Reporters hammered away about Paris' medical condition during a press conference in front of the jail, where she was released early this morning, but Whitmore said that due to confidentiality laws, he could not discuss even the slightest health-related details.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days, where she has a 3000-4000 ft. radius of freedom. Her jail cell was 96 square feet. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.Paris Hilton gallery: Click to launch gallery

691. About Al Sharpton,
ok paris got out...no surprise...but what gets me is Al Sharpton running his racist mouth again..we know she got out because money talks but he has to play the race card and get his nose into this. Al did you know that OJ was black? And he never went to jail. He had money. So why do you always have to stir things up about race ....Why don't you come to Philly and run your mouth to all your brothers who are killing each other and stop worrying about WHITE paris hilton. I know it is not fair but it's also not fair for you to play the race card.

692. What a joke ! Anyone going to jail is scared , oh ! I mean "medically" unable to cope !
When does the public perception matter when it comes to justice >

694. To tell you the truth I was shocked that Paris Hilton even saw the inside of a cell
jail. Too bad her brain wasn't deloused. It's just so nauseating, I'm just hoping
that the Guvn'r of Kaleee-fornea didn't do any string pulling on her or her family's
behalf. Gotta love that California judicial system...fruit & nuts baby!

I am very happy that Paris Hilton do not lost her Faith to the Impossible.
What you believe, you get it ...

She believes on Life, Happiness and partys with Friends , why should she not get it?

696. More proof that the rich & famous are above the law. This is the real "L.A. Law". If you want to do a crime without doing the time, do it in L.A. What does this say to our young? By the way who or what is Paris Hilton anyway? Hey L.A. everybody is laughing at you!!!

697. I am going to write to Amnesty International about this.

This is a grave violation of human rights! Paris is a human being too, she too has the right to be corrected by the justice system. WHAT WILL BECOME OF HER NOW??

698. I am happy she was sent home. It is not an irregular practice, it happens all the time whether or not someone is a celebrity. Cells are needed, the county and city jails are overflowing and those wih non-violent crimes are often released early. Normally one serves, for such a misdemeanor, 10% of their time. She has already done that.
Remember, those who show no mercy, receive none. She may be rich but she is very young and fragile. I prayed for her release because I sensed she was suffering great depression in her incarceration. May God bless her, she has learned her lesson.

701. Poor little girl can't take the real world! Ya health problem or to that effect.....oh I don't have a name brand orange jacket on me I have a rash! Or I don't have name brand bed to sleep on with my Tinker Bell dog that I can get rid of anytime! Or Mommy & Daddy can't buy me lobster!! Wa Wa Wa.... Do your time like a real person....you are no one special.....
It's true money can't buy you happiness but it sure can buy your way out of things. There should be a clause in the law: "If you are famous, rich or something in that catergory your time should be cut in half or you can pay your way out!"

702. If we want the justice system to stop treating super stars different, we have to start treating them like anyone else. We make Paris Hilton who she is...she has no true talent. If we stop buying the tabloids that have her picture on the cover and stop buying every product she endorses, she will lose her fame. That Easy. She is dumb and untalented. I am sure she is suffering from depression and drug withrawal so I hope she has a stash at home. Enjoy your vacation Paris. Thank god you didn't kill me or one of my children during your drunk driving adventures.

704. This is sick, if this were you or I or any old American citizen we'd still be sitting in that jail. It's outrageous that this spoiled brat gets preferrential treatment, what has she contributed to society? Absolutely nothing. Send her ass back to rot in jail for 40 days...or consider our justice system obsolete.

705. Paris,
Here is a helpful tip...do your time, do it quietly and this will all go away. It's when you start crying and show your weak that the other prisioners will start to feed on you. People may also notice your not in County Jail. Believe me, the jail your in is alot better than the real County Jail. Oh! one more thing. Be careful what you wish for. There is a price to being famous... T.

P.S. Now get back in your cage...
