If You're Pissed Over Paris, Don't Blame the Judge!

The decision to move Paris Hilton to house arrest was made entirely by the L.A. Sheriff's Department.
Paris' sentencing doc
TMZ has confirmed that Judge Michael T. Sauer was informed of the Sheriff's decision before Hilton was reassigned to house arrest, but the Judge only responded by reaffirming the terms he imposed on May 4.

We spoke to Allan Parachini, Public Information Officer for the Los Angeles County Courts, who advises that "All decisions on incarceration are made by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department once a sentence is imposed."

So don't tell it to the judge.

UPDATE:
Allan Parachini addressed the media outside of a Los Angeles County Courthouse regarding Paris Hilton's early release today, and reiterated that the court did not sanction the early release of Miss Hilton. He added that the Sheriff's Department contacted Judge Sauer on June 6 and asked him to change his sentence to allow electronic monitoring for Hilton. He declined, sticking by his original sentence, which clearly nixed that type of punishment.

167. Here is a better email for Sheriff Lee Baca:

shbinternetmail@lasd.org

For what it's worth, if you do email him, try to intelligently express your position, rather than just going in and "flaming" him. It will get taken a lot more seriously.

Now, everybody go email him and tell him what a bad decision he made!

170. Sherriff Lee Baca is a joke and an embarrassement to everyone in this city. He should be impeached. Anyone that is involved in this fiasco should be made responsible and like in other countries made to face the consequences.

171. It's not Paris' fault that the sherriff let her go home. She shouldn't have to serve 45 days because of that!

173. You are all idiots. I am not a Paris fan but you are just not seeing the clear picture and obviously did not watch Sheriff Baca's news conference yesterday.

I have believed from the beginning that the judge in this case was totally biased against Paris Hilton. There are people that have committed murder (re: Mary Winkler in Tenn) and have received much less of a sentence than deserved and where are your outcries of indignation?

I heard with my own ears the Sheriff state he had 50-some similar cases to Paris Hilton's that he was browsing through and he didn't think ANY of them served one day in jail much less the amount that Paris will be serving. He said the special treatment wasn't being given to Paris Hilton and it was quite the opposite.
you could have read the following on this site:
"TMZ has confirmed that Judge Michael T. Sauer was informed of the Sheriff's decision before Hilton was reassigned to house arrest, but the Judge only responded by reaffirming the terms he imposed on May 4.

It was within Sheriff Baca's discretion to do what he did with Paris Hilton...no special favors, no pay offs, no nothing.

The judge is sitting in judgement of traffic violations, for heaven's sake ! What a better way to try and get out of that courtroom, make a name for yourself by setting an example of Paris Hilton.

175. I was shocked when I read the hate responses regarding Paris Hilton's incarceration. What makes people laugh at other's unfortunate mistakes? What breed of humanity harbors such malice towards others who are going through frightening experiences? Shame on all those who condemn their brothers and sisters, who have reacted in an unusual way.

I would like to thank Sheriff Baca for his actions in how he handled Paris' case. He should be commended, not blamed and accused of taking bribes from the Hilton family. That is a lie and a disgrace whoever is spreading those false rumors.

The person I fault is the pompous judge, who refused to work with the Sheriff. He could have gone along with the home incarceration, but his ego would not allow him to trust the sheriff's reasons for ordering a change of location.

Paris was happy to leave the jail and return home, as she was sick and did nothing, but cry. She was extremely frightened. Sheriff Baca took matters into his own hands, which he had every right to do to stop the madness inside and outside the jail.

It has been reported that Paris thumbed her nose at the judges' orders. She did not. She was told to call in to speak to the judge, which she did. She was then told she had to return to court by 9:00, which was totally impossible due to the traffic at that time of day in Los Angeles. The judge was fully aware of that fact. Paris never was disrespectful to anyone. She was not brought up to be rude to her elders. I have no idea where the public gets the idea that this young lady is some crude, bitchy individual. All these private details about her education and personal details regarding her life have no business being discussed on the air. She is not dumb, in fact she is very smart. I hate to see anyone abused in the way the media has attacked this fragile individual.

Thank God for Greta and Geraldo from Fox News, who backed up the facts, which occurred at her court appearances. These facts had been falsely stated by reporters, who were not present at these proceedings. People like to quickly jump to conclusions. Paris cried out to her mother, as the guards would not allow her to give her mom a hug and said it was not fair. She was not speaking about the judge's angry decision to return her to her jail cell.

Grete also reported that Paris appeared to be sick, shaking and not at all well. She looked beyond the hostile surroundings and saw the need for Paris to receive immediate medical attention. This had not been mentioned in the judge's orders. As if he cared, which was overwhelmingly clear. He did not give a hoot about the media circus outside that the Sheriff was dealing with or Paris' apparent illness.

He did not ask for her medical records to be delivered to his courtroom. If he had been interested, he could have demanded to see them before sending her back to her jail cell. He didn't give a dam. I don't blame the Sheriff for not releasing them, as they would have been all over the news media in a few hours.

I think the Sheriff and his staff did an outstanding job in controlling the circus outside. He has nothing to apologize for or should he be blamed for anything. He had a difficult job dealing with the prima donna actions of a huffy jurist, who was having a hard time just controlling his own personal anger.

I hope that Paris gets released to do the rest of her sentence at her home and that everyone gets back to minding their own business. This young lady was brought up by loving parents and was taught how to behave towards other human beings in a caring manner. I have watched Paris in action for many years and I see nothing of the hostile personality which the media likes to mention constantly. Give Paris a break. She has had a tough learning experience.
