Paris Hilton

Free Woman

6/7/2007 9:52 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0517-paris-ex-01-2TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days -- the normal stay for a violation of this kind. Her five days began Sunday night and concluded early Thursday morning.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

UPDATE 10:16
:
LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities decided to release Paris from jail due to medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 AM.

Whitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' "medical issue" due to confidentiality, but said that medical officials "constantly examined" her while she was in jail.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore made it clear that Paris was not released early -- she was reassigned. She is technically still in custody.

How the hell does anybody defend this ridiculous person, by saying "we don't even know her"?

Seriously?

The freak is an attention whore? You can't pick up a rag mag, or flip on the boob tube and not see this idiot or hear about her. If that's all just a put on, for show and attention, then that's all I'm going by, in how I feel about the dumb girl. If she's REALLY a good, clean wholesome, church going girl who loves her mommy and daddy and Jesus too....then she's one HELLUVA actress, and wasting her talents on MTV crap shows.

I don't think it's an act. She's really just spoiled...rich..and very dumb. What's left to "know" about her?

it is not fair to other inmates who may have "just a traffic violation" or some other minor offense with some type of medical condition which may be more serious than "about to have a nervous break down". i remember being incarcerated for an offense because i was being kind to a person who stiff me with a vcr i was renting. they sold it. i reported it to the police. i was charged with theft by receiving stolen property. i know the company got the insurance off of it. yet, they charged me with a crime. i went to visit an inmate, with my then 10 year old son, who has only me to take care of him. i had to be booked in front of him. he had to leave without me. he was terrified! i was devasted! i was about to have a nervous break down. i was not sent home.shame on this sheriff for not doing his job because she has money. well her father is a well known billionaire. IT IS NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope any inmate in that is in this jail takes him to court for injustice if they have a medical condition and has not been released!

i think she should have to perform community service (no paris - oral sex is not a part of community service) at an old age home. 30 days of emptying bedpans.

If any other ordinary person was sent to jail, they would be doing the entire sentence. I bet most people who goto jail would be upset and claim health problems. I never thought in a million years I would ever this, but Rev. Sharpton is correct, this specific instance is a double standard.....and she should be sent back!

you dont want to know

if she doesnt get sent back to jail - there will be such a major outcry. but it will be well deserved. she should spend the full sentence behind bars.

I would have liked to see all the tax dollars for the extra law enforcement and court personel ,etc., go to our schools or the homeless and hungry. We need to ignore these people AND THAT MEANS YOU PAPARAZZI and stop wasting our tax dollars and time!

Does anyone else notice that all the key players appear envious when they speak of Paris? She is a young women who was born into privledge. Hopefully, whatever happens-jail or no jail- she will get it over and leave this country and learn about real life outside of a bubble. I do not believe that her parents have ever allowed that to happen. Hopefully she will make it happen for herself.

This isn't about Paris Hilton. It's about whether or not the US legal system can be bought. Full respect to the judge, and the attorney who filed the petition.

I hope Hilton goes back and serves her time, but mostly I hope that sheriff gets found in contempt. Not even the law is above the law.

I see I'm not the only one that thought Janice's remark was with lack of knowledge,
lack of thought and totally idiotic. She did do something wrong. REALLY WRONG!!!!!!
Maybe you should buy some of the magazines or papers at the check out and get up
to speed with what actually has transpired with this lil white trashy, nasty, rich bitch.

Hopefully the Judge will require (demand) she go back to jail and hold the Sheriff
in contempt and have him serve time too. He should require her parents to cough
up the cash to reimburse the city, county & state for all the costs in all of her run-ins,
bookings, court time wasted since it really did no good to go before a judge especially
when the sheriff appears to think he has a higher power than the judge. If he doesn't
he at least should also put an alcohol & drug monitor on her as well and ban her
having any visitors during the 40-day reign at home for lock down. And, if she does,
hold her parents liable and in contempt of court also.

She definitely isn't getting a lesson or learning anything with the way it is now. So, why
should she care, she's above the law. NOT!

Hey, ACLU, why don't you come to the aid of some of the other prisoners that have a
"medical condition" that are incarcerated for non-violent charges and see if you can't get
their sentencings of 23 to 45 days reduced to 5 days or less????

And, as I said in a previous comment, I can't believe M.A.D.D. isn't jumping all over this!!!
