591. I am not a Paris Hilton hater, like most people are. However, I lost a lot of respect for not her, but the legal system in general when she was sent home a fraction into her jail sentence. Goes to show how the rich, white, powerful ones get special treatment, just as many predicted would happen when she was sent to jail.

People seem to forget: Paris broke the law. She was caught drunk driving (which seems to be a "glamorous crime" in Hollywood) -- which is not only irresponsible but also dangerous. Then, she broke probation by driving with a suspended license: not once, but twice. Any other person would have a jail sentence, she should be treated no differently. Her not eating and sleeping in jail comes as no surprise: IT'S JAIL!!! The point of her being there is to reflect on why she's there, and to learn her lesson.

If she remains in jail for the rest of her sentence (even if it's 23 days of it), a lot of people will regain respect in Paris, the Hiltons, and the legal system. Finding another pathetic loophole to send her to her billion dollar mansion with an ankle bracelet is an insult to all of us.

593. I have one question for this nucklehead city attorney who was against the release of this little girl (I have a daughter 22 years old) because of her mental state.

I'm sure spoiled as she maybe, I'm also sure it's no fault of her own (you can blame her parents for that part) and was raised to believe certain things in life and now she is finding out the hard way that she wasn't told the truth.

She lived in a safe and secure and protected world but, now all alone in a criminal cell with harden convicts and murderers all around her,and I'm sure with guards who hate her privalege life. I'm not against her or her way of life she is entitled like anyone else would be and it shouldn't be held against her like this asshole city attorney is......

My question for this "jerk (city attorney) is if no one is above the law in your city than how come there are so many illegal aliens running around your your city free as a bird? It' couldn't be because they are Mexican could it? He's Mexican right? Oh, I get it, no one is above the law but Mexicans........ Anyone could freak out in a situation like that being lockedup in a solid cell for 23 hours day (even you!)

Whether you wish to undersatnd or not, she is a child in a world like that..... I feel very sorry for her!

The Micro view of Harvey Levin, and WWW.TMZ.COM,, is not an invalid one, but in a MACRO VIEW, it is the wrong one, based on rating and money, but not on the safety of the total community, and law enforcement that will be tasked with enforcing a two justice under the law legal system.
The Harvey Levin and WWW.TMZ.COM,, leads to street, and community justice, by those at the lower end of the two tier unequal justice under the law. More, O. J. SIMPSON, Jury Nullification, and riots for BLACK MEN being given Billy Club L.A. Police Street Beat Down Justice.
The Best Justice that could have been served in this matter is being met, Paris Hitlon will only serve (21) days of a (45) day sentence if she behaves herself, and even if she serves (45) days, its in the best interests of society.
Harvey Levin and WWW.TMZ.COM,, take the Micro View which once again is a valid but wrong view, leading to a two tier legal system, that will tear this society apart. Remember the old Star Trek, Mr. Spock, the Needs of The Many out weights the needs of the few. The Macro view serves the needs of the many, the micro serves the needs of Paris Hilton. IS OUR LEGAL SYSTEM PERFECT? NO!!! But, it is all we have, and if Harvey Levin and WWW.TMZ.COM,, cling to a Micro View, are we all prepared for Street, Hood, or Community JUSTICE? Or, do we admit the legal system is not perfect, that Money and Power can be used to bend it, but do we allow Harvey Levin and WWW.TMZ.COM, to use Paris Hilton and break it?

In South Africa, she would have been unlikely to have even seen the inside of a jail.

This is not justice. This is _American_ "justice".

I've become convinced that Americans just love putting Americans in jail, even for the most ridiculous reasons.

Yes, Paris Hilton drove drunk on a "suspended license". Did she hurt anyone? NO!

In South Africa, people routinely drive on our roads who do not even POSSESS a license. They do NOT go to jail. They pay a fine.

Putting a person in jail for traffic violations in which no-one was hurt, is ridiculous.
