The ONLY way to make a difference is to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! There is POWER in numbers. Everyone who has been charged with a DUI and had to go to drug & alcohol classes, pee tests, abstain from drinking, do jail time, pay huge fine, etc. should get together and file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT for REVERSE DISCRIMINATION!!! Just because you aren't rich, you had to do what NORMAL people have to do - and to allow Paris Hilton to get away with less because she's rich is reverse discrimination and YOU HAVE RIGHTS!!! Bellyaching on this site does nothing, but get their attention by filing a lawsuit - you'll get it real quick.
Someone needs to get the ball rolling and find a lawyer who wants to make a name for him/herself in what is sure to be a "high-profile case" - send letters to all recipients of DUI's in that county asking them to join in the suit, and PRESTO! They HAVE to do something about it then.

The ultimate justice would be for the Los Angeles Sherriff's Department to find itself behind bars for violating the judge's explicit orders that Paris fulfill her confinement requirements, in jail, not her posh home. What is the Sherrif thinking to allow this little rich girl to flip our legal system the bird, and say "I don't have to go to jail, because my daddy's rich and powerfull, and knows the right people"?
What is the medical condition that Paris has that gives her the right to special treatment? Withdrawal from Starbucks, perhaps? Or maybe,a place to sleep that makes her back hurt; after all, she's used to plush surroundings, not a hard cot?
It's no surprise that people hold rich celebrities in contempt. They are disgusting!

I don't think Paris deserves a slap on the wrist, but if she is considered ill and can't serve her time! Then all the people that are alcoholics have a science proven illness. There is such a revolving door in these prisons and if Paris can be the tool we have against a system that just doesn't care then thank God for an answer. Does anyone know what it is like to ask for help and no one give a damn?? I am going through this right now with the judicial system that looks for no solution's but is in a rush to make me a single parent. Our family came out of pocket and got my husband treatment prior to them refiling the case and have medical records to prove it, when my lawyer goes back to court, I want to see them tell me that his illness is any less important than hers. If there were real treatment being sought and mental evaluations being done on these inmates then the prison population would be severely reduced. Every body from the hood ain't a waste of oxygen, and if we can use Paris's situation to get Psycho- Therapeutic Therapy for the people that don't have 7 to 25,000 to pay for the treatments, then I think that is far better then building more Prisons to house people that don't know where else to turn. Yaw should come down to the SHAW some time and see how much help they extend to us.
