Jessica Simpson, Reporting for Duty!

Professional blonde Jessica Simpson is set to star in the movie "Major Movie Star," playing the role of a Marine Corps enlistee. Sounds like it should be called "Private Benjamin 2."

According to Variety, the pic is about a movie star who decides to enlist in the Marines to prove to movie producers that she is the right choice for an upcoming military-themed film. Simpson's character quickly realizes she has made a huge mistake, but decides to power through -- for the good of her country. Hilarity, no doubt, ensues.

After "Employee of the Month," if Jess were really interested in the good of the country, perhaps she would stop making films.

46. Why the outrage? What about GI Jane & Private Benjamin??? Don't see much difference in Goldie Hawn & Jessica Simpson....no one ranted & raved about GI Jane & Private Benjamin....was it because our country was not at war at that time? A movie has nothing to do with the "real" world, the real armed services or the men/women that serve our country.....please......find something else to complain about, give the girl a break. Nick Lachey is any better? Use the marriage break-up to restart his career, he was sooooo heart broken, he was immediately out dating another "bimbo".....Jessica a gold-digger.....I don't think Nick Lachey paid any money to her after the divorce....she was the one with the money & still making the money and will be long after Nick is gone......
