The judge has just addressed the court and said, "I don't know why the defendant couldn't be treated at Lynwood, because they have a great medical facility."
Paris is not being made an example. She is a repeat offender!!!! She was given several breaks and thumbed her nose at the justice system. She figured mommy and daddy would bail her out and make it all go away. How many pictures have you seen of her prior to today with that cocky little smirk on her face. Have you ever received a speeding ticket and come to find out your beautiful family member or coworker has also been stopped for speeding, but did not get the ticket? Don't feel too bad for Paris, think of all the money she will make on the movie and book rights to this story. She's probably crying because her story is being overshadowed by the Mary Winkler verdict that is all over the news right now.
I disagree with you Lynn. I don't think compassion or forgiveness are required here. But let us agree to dismiss the ridiculous comments by those who just like to hate. Paris was busted for DUI. Like most people she copped a plea and was given probation. The terms of her probation were clear. She claims not to have known them but ignorance is not a defense. She has been photographed and videotaped repeatedly violating her probation. She was let go a few times after being pulled over and caught driving with a suspended license. What if she were to have killed someone in a drunk driving accident and it was brought to light that the police department had pulled her over several times and let her go even though she was driving on a suspended license? Would you not be up in arms towards the police? Would you then feel she deserves compassion and forgiveness even though she demonstrated no regard for the law or the safety of those around her?
While I've yet to hear any news outlet, including this one, allude to the following possibility, my theory from ALL I've heard (and I *do* mean ALL) is that Paris is suffering from some prescription drug withdrawal reaction. Either benzos or opiates. (pain meds) No time to explain my reasons for this theory, but Harv? Can you look into it, please? Thanks in advance.;-)
That was the first thing I said when I heard she was released because of a medical condition..........I said don't they have a hospital or infirmary or nearby hospital or whatever there?! I knew something was up then.
I JUST HAVE TO LAUGH MY ASS OFF HARV. THIS IS SO FUNNY I ALMOST WET MY PANTS
I AM OVERJOYED THAT THE JUDGE THREW HER ASS BACK BEHIND BARS,
LEE CACA THE SHERIFF OVER IN L.A. SHOULD ALSO GO TO JAIL AS WELL
SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL HIM I KNOW THIS LOOKS LIKE MEXICO
BUT ITS REALLY NOT, CACA SHOULD BE FIRED, WHAT A BAD MOVE AND WHAT A GREAT
JOB ROCKY THE D.A. OVER THERE IN L.A, WHAT A JOKE RECALL LEE CACA THANK YOU
THE RHODSTER
that's a joke...canada has the most lenient criminal system in north america period! they give money to serial killers in order to find the victims...research and you will see
One more thing in regards to your comments Lynn...a fundraising form of community service is a nice idea in addition to not in lieu of her sentence. Otherwise any person with money can easily buy their way out of jail by offering this option up. The law should still be upheld. The sentence would be harsh if she were only caught violating her probation once. But there is photographic and video evidence of her violating it repeatedly and I think this is what prompted the judge to make his ruling. Everybody wants to argue that most people are released after a few days anyway...this is true from what I understand...what happens if they were to violate their probation a second, third, even fourth time? Should they continue to expect leniency? 2 or 3 days here and there no big deal? I would argue that the length and terms of her sentence was based on her very public disregard for the terms of her probation. She was already given a chance to avoid jail when she copped a plea and agreed to accept the terms of her probation. What's the point of giving someone probation if there are no repercussions for violating it? Probation is your chance to atone, to show that you've accepted the consequences of your actions. How many chances should she get before we decide to enforce the law?
Accolades to you Judge Sauer!! You did the right thing and give the average person confidence that justice is not blind.
Thanks!
KUDOS TO THE JUDGE......PARIS NEEDS A REALITY CHECK! IF SHE WAS ON PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION THEN WHERE WAS HER PARENTS MAKING SURE THE JAIL HAD HER MEDS. BOO TO THE SHERIFF.

Free Paris - both the Judge and you people are vindictive and have no personal lives of your own
This is a pathetic joke
If OJ and Mary Winkler can go free after killing someone - then let's face -it the system is broken. Paris is being made a scapegoat. SET PARIS FREE NOW!! It's double-jeopardy to incarcerate her, set her free and then incarcerate her again. If she was not a little crazy before, she surely will be now. Mentally, it's cruel and inhumane punishment.
Stay strong Paris.
Paris Hilton will come through this just fine if you ask me. This will be a blessing in disguise in the end. She is obviously suffering from fright and who wouldn't be? However, she does need to set an example for the young people who love her so dearly. I wish her well and we should remember she isn't responsible for being born into such wealth.
