Paris Will Spend Weekend in Med Jail

Paris Hilton will probably spend the weekend in a medical ward at the jail facility where she surrendered Sunday night, referred to as Twin Towers.

We're told the plans will firm up within an hour. Hilton will stay there over the weekend, when her lawyer will file an appeal, called a writ of habeas corpus, which means, essentially, the body is being held illegally.

661. At first I felt that paris should learn her lesson of responsibility and respect and still do, I feel it is going to the extreme by putting her in jail especially for 45 days. Perhaps she made a grave mistake but she is now suffering emotionally and she has had this strong wake up call she is facing. Hopefully she will pray to the all Mighty for forgiveness and her repenting will be heared. I wish her a good new kind of life and to be a better person.

662. Abraham Lincoln she was caught driving with a suspended license twice (one of those times she was speeding with her lights off) and also she failed to attend a court ordered alcohol class.

663. She is detoxing. Being in jail will probably save her life. I can't believe that so many think that someone who violates probation TWICE doesn't deserve punishment.

664. She should of spend 5-10 consecutive weekends (Friday night - Sunday Morning) for failing her probation.

665. Some people obviously don't understand THE LAW.

Anyone else would have gotten the 3-day jail sentence or NO jail time some of you are whining about after the FIRST incident in which Paris claimed not to KNOW her license was suspended. Instead, she was given PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT by being allowed to sign a document stating that she now knows her license is suspended and jail time will result IF SHE DRIVES AGAIN. (And of COURSE, she knew her license was suspended. She drove anyway because she didn't expect to get CAUGHT DRIVING!)

Judge Sauer can only see the bottom line here, to wit, that Paris Hilton violated her probation not once but TWICE!

666. She's going to appeal that her judgment was unlawfully harsh!!! You've got to be kidding. Let's put things in perspective here. When she was initially sentenced she was put on probation and was ordered to report to an alcohol rehabilitation center. That was an easy sentence. That was also a fair sentence. BUT what did she do. She took it upon herself to drive around town without a license and had the gall to say she was not aware that she was not allowed to drive. Is she really that stupid??? She probably laughed the first sentence off and basically ignored it INCLUDING the requirement that she report to an alcohol rehabilitation center! While some say that this sentence is harsher, I want to digress since she really was in violation of her probation and it seems that this is what is needed in order for her to learn her lesson ( i hope). Now she is being forced to comply to the laws of justice and rightly so because she seems to think that she is above the law in the way she acts. If you were the judge with these facts would you not have done the same thing? So please drop the appeal. IT IS A FAIR SENTENCE!

667. It is a really sad situation when so much more is going on in the world and yet the news is practically completely centered on Paris Hilton. If you watch any news program you can't get away from tabloid style reporting - CRIPES!!!! Too bad we can't get this riled over the war in Iraq, or the fact that soliders death toll has gone over 3500 - what have we come to!

668. Can we not just trade Paris to the white slavers in the Middle East and solve the whole oil crisis problem. She can wear fancy costums and jewlry, get lots of attention and go to parties every day and the rest of the country can have a little peace and quiet.

669. Inmates Resent Hilton's Special Treatment
By: LA Times Staff Writer Greg Krikorian

If a distraught Paris Hilton expects sympathy from other women serving time at the Los Angeles County Jail in Lynwood, she could be waiting longer than the term of her sentence.

"I find it unfair that she got out so quickly," Rhonda Thompson said as she walked quickly from the stark facility Friday morning. "I didn't want to be here either. It was a nightmare."

The 36-year-old Downey resident was at the Century Regional Detention Facility to pick up her belongings after spending four days in jail for driving with a suspended license.

Like Hilton, Thompson didn't want to be behind bars. And although Hilton's medical condition was described as largely psychological, Thompson said she has painful fibroid tumors on her uterus.

"If she had a medical problem, I'd like to see her top mine," Thompson said as she and her husband left the jail.

Minutes later, Robbie Davenport, 42, of Hollywood also left the jail, after spending 45 days in custody on a 90-day sentence for violating probation by driving.

Unlike Thompson, Davenport said she had two prior arrests — both for driving under the influence.

But she was every bit as angry about how the system had kept her locked up for weeks while Hilton was released after only three days.

"What's so special about her?" Davenport asked. "Do I have to stay here for 45 days just because I don't have money to pull strings?"

Thompson, Davenport and other women at the jail Friday said they knew Hilton received special treatment.

Hilton was kept in protective custody, far from the other female prisoners, the women said.

Some said that deputies even put other inmates on lockdown Thursday while Hilton walked through the jail.

The entire scene was a bit much for Valerie Jacquez, who left the jail after serving eight months for possession of a heroin syringe. Jacquez, 48, has been in jail six times and said it never gets any easier.

During her most recent stay, she said, she took medicine for seizures and multiple pills for high blood pressure.

If Hilton got such easy treatment, said Jacquez's longtime friend Ralph — a veteran state corrections officer who gave only his first name for fear of reprisals — then Jacquez's medical condition should have permitted her an early release.

"I am not a fan of Paris Hilton, and I don't think it's fair that she got such a big sentence," the burly corrections officer said. "But if they can go easy on her, why not Valerie too?"

Throughout the morning and afternoon, as prisoners exited carrying their belongings in small freezer bags or large plastic ones, they and their family members seemed bothered, but hardly surprised, at how Hilton's treatment was different from theirs.

"She should have served her whole time," said Shannon, 33, from Santa Clarita, who declined to give her last name.

Though she is bipolar and has epilepsy, Shannon said, she spent four weeks in jail for her third drug conviction.

Her uncle shook his head about the accommodations made for Hilton.

"When people like that come in, the people inside know that it just shows everyone how there are two separate systems in the law," Robert Anthony said.

"There is one for the upper class and one for the [rest]. If you have money, you can pretty much get off for anything."

Outside, half a dozen African American community leaders said the incident involving Hilton underscored how medical treatment must be improved in the county's jail system.

"We have dozens of women here who have serious medical issues, but they don't have money or fame or connections," said Earl Ofari Hutchinson, president of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable.

"If you are going to provide something for Paris Hilton, you must provide it for others too," he said.

670. I have forced my children to watch this pathetic display and have turned to them and told each of them THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DO NOT FINISH HIGH SCHOOL. Paris wasn't raised by loving parents she was raised by nannys, occasionally an egotistical mother would show up for a day or two. Once in a while her father who is described as "dense" by the british papers, would pop in to lavish her with gifts. Her life has been pitiful from the get go why is anyone surprised at the events of the last 5 months? Even the wealthy complete high school and although most are probably handed a college education based on how much money they donate to the school, at least they go through the motion. Paris's parents were not even responsible enough to see that she got a high school education.

Yes I feel sorry for Paris, sorry that she was not raised by a family who cared, however she is the end product of disfunction and must pay the price. Her mother and father should be in the cell next to her. It will probably be the closest and longest amount of time they have ever spent with their daughter.

e.e.cummings put it best when he wrote "pity this busy world mankind". Society does not have a place for the 'socialite' mentality. A wanna be of nothing significant.

Money did not buy happiness this time, and rarely does.

In closing I would like to say values, morals, ethics, three of the most important words in the english language which can't be purchased by money, are a gift from parents and family, something Paris never had the opportunity to benefit from.

Do your time Paris, come out of jail and only focus on the money you can make from the experience. Dramatize it, hypothothize it, capitalize on it but don't for one minute think about coming out and being a real rolemodel. Remain the only thing you know, your family taught you by their inability to portray humanistic qualities like love and guidance. Remain the poor little rich girl you are. The rest of us need a role modle like you so we can turn to our children and tell them this is what you could have been if we didn't love you.

671. I suspect and highly predict that Paris’s legal team is going to use/abuse clostaphobia as her diagnosis.

Crying shame this girl has nada, zip, zero, no coping abilities or emotional maturity.

She has been too sheltered, pampered, and removed from the world. And, has the coping abilities of a child……she may have been fed with a silver spoon as a child. But, sad as a 26-year old woman she needs a silver pacifier in her mouth to cope with life and a brief jail sentence.

672. Hey, Stupid ass MORONS.........she's in jail for VIOLATION PROBATION, not suspended license. The sentence is more than fair for violation of probation. She failed a sobriety test. The law is plain and simple. Why don't you learn what your argueing before you open you stupid mouths and show everyone on here how stupid you REALLY are.

673. if you don't know paris your comment means squat!! You want to be angry that's your problem. but don't forget god will judge YOU for your ugliness and wishing someone to suffer is pretty ugly. you who judge her are so pathetic.

674. Attractive girls go through withdrawal also, in my opinion Paris doesn’t have a psychological problem the girl is just going through withdrawal from at minimum alcohol. Sorry girl, everyone that has ever gone through withdrawal knows that the 3 day point is the worst but the good news is that it gets better from this point. Smile….. Its sad that she prefers to say in have mental issues than to just say I have an addiction.

675. WAY TO GO TO THE JUDGE!!! What makes her think she should not pay the price for BREAKING THE LAW AND I REPEAT BREAKING THE LAW!!!!!! What if she had hit and killed a child or a car carrying a family, and she killed them would everyone think she should get off with a slap on the wrist. Next time it could be worse!!! Let her cry for her mommy maybe if her mommy had been a mommy she would not be in this position. This is what happens when you have spoiled children that is all you can call her a SPOILED CHILD.
