It didn't go down at the jail -- TMZ was there when Paris Hilton turned herself in to Sheriff's authorities on Sunday night. Paris' mega-lawyer, Richard Hutton, picked her up at her parents' house at 10:30 PM.

The squad car was then swarmed by aggressive paparazzi vying for a shot of the troubled heiress, who gave chase as far as they could.

A highly emotional Kathy and Rick Hilton left Los Angeles County Superior Court, thronged by reporters and photogs.

46. I am wondering if people in the LA Sherrif's office can count? If she can have one day off of her sentence for each 4 days of good behavior, how do they get 23 days? 45 divided by 4 is 11.25, subtract that from 45 and you get 33.75. which in the real world would be looked at as 34.

47. Poor little rich girl, has to take her punishment like everyone else. I read somewhere that initially, Paris' Attorney tried to take the blame for her parole violation by saying he didn't tell Paris that her license was suspended. Hello!!! When you are an adult you are responsible for your own actions and affairs, even if you are rich. It is no one else's responsibility but hers to know what she is supposed to do. That is just refusing to take responsibility for her actions by blaming someone else. I agree with the City Attorney that the Sheriff should not have made any decision to send her home. That is the Judge's job. Also, it does not help her learn to take responsibility when everyone feels sorry for her. She broke the law then thumbed her nose at it twice. Now she is facing the consequences. In some towns, DUI go directly to jail on the first offense. So all this crap about no one ever getting jail time is bull. The only reason everyone even cares is because she is rich. Well, having money does not entitle you to get away with breaking the law. Allowing her to serve her time at home, with all her freinds hanging out and being able to do what she wants is not punishment. Everyone needs to get a life and stop condoneing stars behavior. No matter what your financial status or notoriety, the law is for everyone.

48. All this is a big joke.#12 ur absolutely right, Paris only appeared to be hand cuff, with a careful eye I can see for a split second her arms become undone. This guy who run TMZ have become a advocate for the Hilton family. The rich is being treated differently.

49. I don't quite get how so many people can feel sorry for her. Let the average Joe try to get away with what she has and I guarantee the judicial system would not be so nice. She knowingly violated the terms of her probation, and unless she's a complete idiot...she knew this. Ya wanna play, then you pay...only this time her money won't help her. I'm glad there's finally a judge with some balls out there that couldn't be steered away from his ruling.

Honestly, why is she even considered a celebrity? She's rich, but she hasn't done squat to be a real celebrity. Amateur porn star maybe but please, her reality show blows chunks and there used to be a time when money didn't equal celebrity status, it just meant you were rich. She is famous for all the wrong reasons, none of which should be celebrated, but I guess that goes to show how far society has slipped along with the level of acceptance we allow.

51. If Richard Hutton is such a "mega-lawyer", as you say, then why is his client, a Hilton, in the slammer for a DUI?

52. hey, she's NOT above the law! money doesn't buy freedom. I would expect to be put in jail and serve my time if i did what she pulled. I do not feel sorry for her at all. She's acting like this is a sentence of a lifetime. It's only a lousy 40 days. Just do your time and be done with it. When this is all said and done, you know this will enhance her career, which is discusting
already.

59. Dear Paris

I just got back from Fortunes in Croydon. Great music, everybody had a good time and quite a few people got drunk - but it was a good night.

I hope you also had a great Saturday evening. Oh, I forgot. You're locked up in your little cold cell. I guess that's what happens when you're a naughty little girl, eh? Maybe I'll send you a photo of my group so you can put it up on your cell wall, as you count the hours ticking away.

60. How much of Paris Hilton's reincarceration was about her being a FEMALE and not just a celebrity? Similar to Martha Stewart's incarceration, I question whether a male celebrity would've received the same harsh treatment. The judicial system is more apt to make examples out of female celebs. Because not only are men threatened by a woman with power, but other women have animosity towards them as well. Meanwhile, OJ and Michael Jackson go free. Explain that.
